Aside from a couple of friendly employee encounters, this was not a good hotel experience. The hotel smells bad. I could never put my finger on what the smell was, but if you leave the door in the bedroom closed at night, the smell was overwhelming. The hallways also smell bad. The furnishings were worn and the upkeep lacking. The... More

Very helpful staff. When I had a couple of minor issues in the room, staff was very helpful in fixing things. The rooms are huge, as are the bathrooms. The cleaning staff was inconsistent on number of towels left, fortunately I was the one person in the room. Fridge in the room great for storing snacks and drinks. The room... More

We just stayed here for two nights..Booked a King deluxe room and we very impressed with the space! It was really like an apartment. Full kitchen, huge living room, 1-full bath with whirlpool tub and another half bath!! Yes the rooms could use some pictures and the TV's were not flat screens... but we came to NY to enjoy the... We chose the Flatotel mainly for it's location and feedback from other people that have stayed there through our travel agent in the UK. We were not disappointed! From the advise of our agent, I contacted the hotel a few weeks prior to our arrival and requested a corner room which gave us a panoramic view of W 52nd from... More

Great hotel. Beautiful HUGE room. No bed bugs! Wanted a microwave,no problem. In 5 minutes I had a microwave. Air was not working correctly, I called the front desk and in 5 minutes it was fixed. Great continental breakfast. Great location. Close to Times Square and Central Park. Will stay there again!

When I told my Dad I was staying at the Flatotel, he told me that it was the hip place to stay 15 years ago. I can see that. But since it hasn't been renovated in the last 15 years, it now just feels tired and dated. The cons Our room was huge by NYC standards in size, but drab... More

Was in NY this past weekend for Gran Fondo bike ride and this hotel was one of the recommended places to stay. Great location and really good staff. The rooms were HUGE and everything was nice and clean. They could improve the breakfast that comes with the room. Would definitely stay here again.

Lobby is incredibly dark, rooms are big but are in dire need of renovation, the hallways are of hospital decor (bright and depressing), the A/C hardly works and I heard a couple argue for an hour last night, the walls are paper thin. The elevators are so slow it'll take you twenty minutes to get out of the hotel in... More

The Flatotel hotel just off Broadway was a tremendous experience. Great central location for Times Sq, Central Park and Radio City Music Hall all within easy walking distance. Upon entering my room I was very surprised by how big it was. Comfortable bed and huge bath were amazing and the staff were great. Very clean accommodation and will defiantly be... More

Pros: if you are lookin for a location with great access to broadway and central park, this is perfect. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Large bathroom with a big soaker jacuzzi tub (if you're a tub person). Lots of plush towels. Good air conditioning. Complimentary continental breakfast for the pasty/ carb lover. Cons: crappy shower head that you'd... More

While it seems that the location and amenities at the Flatotel provided a comfortable stay in NYC for you, we do regret that you were not completely satisfied with your experience. We are aware that our elevators can create a wait and we do apologize for that and your need for more lighting is certainly a great suggestion. Our guest's... More
