My husband and I had a great night at the Algonquin. We were upgraded to a suite (due to Gold Marriott status) which was wonderful. It was like having a small apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had enough room for us, although it did only have a shower. We loved the l'Occitane bath products. We found... More

Very nice property but the street room walls are paper thin that I thought our window was open but they weren't... request a room off 44th street... I know it's NYC BUT deliveries at 4:30 am are unexceptable... The rooms are very nice & comfortable... The lobby, we had a late afternoon bottle of wine... Sonoma Cutter that retails for... More

We had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights. We were 2 adults and we've got the king size bedroom. You can't beat the location of this hotel. It's the best you can get in NYC. One block from Times SQ, half a block from 5th Ave.. what can you ask for more in NYC?? The... More

The lobby was so beautiful and romantic, and Matilda (the cat) was a bonus! Food was a bit pricey, but the wait staff was so nice and so efficient that it was worth it. The room, a suite, was lovely, and well-appointed. I LOVED the light/picture over the bed! When we called room service, our order came immediately! Front Desk... More

For the good experiences: check-in was easy. Matilda the cat was at the front desk when i checked-in. Lobby is small, intimate bar (i thought i had entered the bar by mistake). Bell hop took me up to the room. This hotel is in a really good location between 5th and 6th. While part of TS, it is away from... More

Great hotel and perfect location, but don't eat or drink anything here...way overpriced F&B. Bar Blue attached to the hotel is especially overpriced. $30.00 for a mineral water and a Captain & Coke? And they don't seem to care if you've earned a high level with Marriott. No special treatment here. Quick to let you know they're 'just' Marriott affiliated.

Beautiful older boutique hotel located just off Times Square. Far enough away to be quiet, close enough to be convenient. Great coffee shop across the street. The rooms are small but stylish. The bathroom was more like a closet, but this is New York City!

My colleague and I were on a business trip to NY and we were interested in staying at an older, yet updated hotel. The Algonquin had just undergone renovations and the rooms were nicely appointed. My room had a king bed in a rather small bedroom area, but a rather large bath area with a bath/shower combination. Not much shelving... More

Stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party, so I didn't make the arrangements and didn't know quite what to expect. As far as NY hotels go, it can be hit or miss and I never did any up front research. First impression: Walking in, this hotel has serious charm. Big open sitting areas, including the Blue themed... My wife and I arrived, flustered from the abusive Customs official at Newark Airport who decided that the US was the greatest country in the world and screamed at a bunch of us we should wait longer than 2 hours and be happy to wait more than 3 or 4 hours and if we want to go faster, than this...
