I've been going to Convict Lake since 1984.Spent my honeymoon there back then.Stayed at one of the cabins ($23.00 per nite back then).Used to camp in the campgrounds, but like others say, lots of people and out-of-control skateboarders kind of take away from it.I take my dog with me,and like other busy campgrounds, lots of fishing line and hooks to worry about...something I'll... We have been camping here for over 30 years. This time we were harrassed and even threatened by the camp host for having an easy up in meadow just below our campsite he said he was going to call the sheriff if we didnt move it. I would not have had a problem with this but my 80+ year old... More

We travel frequently with another couple and last year decided to book a cabin at Convict Lake to see the fall colors. We picked the perfect weekend as the leaves were at their peak, but unfortunately it was raining lightly. It didn't hold us back and we did 3 canyons, North Lake, Sabrina and Pine Creek. The photos opts were... More

Stayed there for a family get away in June 2011. We were in Cabin 10 High Sierra. Nice Clean cabin great having a kitchen to cook in. We had 7 adults, 2 toddlers and an infant. That was too much for this cabin. If all 10 were adults or older it would have been fine. Great walks to the lake... More

We rented a cute little cabin for a good deal for two nights and half a day boat rental for a great price. The eastern sierra local is dotted with beautiful quaking aspens in their fall colors this time of year. The resort is located right on 395, which allows access Bodie, Mono Lake, Bishop, and Manzanar Relocation Camp. The... More

This is our second Fall with Convict Lake. The accomodations are very comfortable. This last visit we stayed in the BlackSpot Cabin..modestly decorated but totally functional. Don't expect a champagne greeting. The fishing wasn't so great but after the first snow of the season...really, who cared?? It was so incredibly beautiful if you enjoy nature like we do, you should... More

Way overpriced!! The cabins are very small and misleading from what the website portrays. We stayed in Speckled Rock #15 it has two small rooms, kitchen and a TINY, very TINy bathroom. The Bathroom is horrid with unfinished light fixtures. No phones in the rooms, and the wireless internet doesn't work even though it is an "accommodation". If you plan... More

In spite of the Owner/Manager's attempt to smooth things over, this turned out to be a disappointing stay. Perhaps we erred in not finding out if there were weddings planned the days of our visits as it seemed the staff was quite pre-occupied. Our cabin was not ready until 3PM which fact, had I been informed of I would have... More

This place has some rustic cabins but they also have some very nice cabins. The small rustic ones are, let' say very cozy!! The nice ones are pricey but worth it if you enjoy spending alot of time in your cabin or enjoy the total relaxation that a good steam shower provides. Brian almost always gives us a deal when...
