This is a really beautiful intimate boutique hotel. Everything from top to bottom is well kept and attractive. Our room was decently spacious with a wonderful bathroom and a very large shower area. A huge number of nice touches such as free all-day cookies, coffee, twice-a-day maid service, free evening wine, free continental breakfast, etc. The best part is the... More

We stayed at the hotel one night in April, 2011. My wife and I went to school in Philly and know the city reasonably well. We wanted to be in center city and this place seemed like a good bet. The hotel is on a relatively small quiet street making it difficult to find. The web directions were misleading. The... More

Thank you so very much for staying with us, we appreciate you choosing our little European Jewel in Philadelphia. I'm sorry that you experienced our AC unit being on the floor and in the room. We understand this isn't optimal and it's not what we would choose for any of our important guests. However, in the recent past our Chiller(AC... More

Just spent an overnight at this lovely B&B. The service was outstanding, the attention to detail in the furnishings and breakfast impressive, the staff very helpful. Would be delighted to stay there again.

A friend and I spent the weekend at Rittenhouse 1715, each in a different room on the third floor. Our experience was just wonderful. I couldn't agree more with the reviewer below who wrote that it's the people who make it truly special. We, too, were treated warmly and royally from the moment we arrived. Staff went out of their... We received warm, personable service from the moment we arrived. The gracious property was spotless and elegant, with lots of appealing touches: chandeliers, custom draperies, antiques, original artwork. We also appreciated the soothing color palettes featuring warm browns and gray-blues. Our room, 415, was spacious and super-quiet, with a comfortable bed and nice linens. It was worth walking up three... More

Last stayed in 2005, before a minor expansion that brought their room count to 23. It's located in a small group of brick-faced row buildings that date back to who-knows-when. Two of the buildings still have fire marks on their second stories, evidence of the time prior to establishment of municipal fire departments when insurance companies had their own fire... More

This adorable hotel pays attention to the details! Each room feels like an elegant bedroom. Bathrooms have an amazing shower and from the "mini bar" snacks (not free) to the robes and complimentary bathroom products -- everything is perfect. Staff was very friendly, wine reception was a nice perk, and breakfast was again, spot-on. You will probably end up spending... More

To me, that is the ultimate accolade: Would I stay there again? And in the case of this boutique hotel, the answer is yes. Charming, elegant and comfortable. Super location on a quiet side street. What you give up - a hotel gym, for example - is compensated for by the lovely breakfast they offer downstairs, including a chef who... More

Really enjoyed our stay at the Rittenhouse. Very nice rooms and service. A central location that allows you to walk to everything - Liberty Bell, convention center, universities and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again when in Philly.

I just returned from a 1 night stay here. It was lovely. I felt like I was in Paris upon entering the entry foyer, cheerfully wall papered in yellow striped wallpaper. The room was large, with a comfortable desk. Toiletries provided in the bathroom were lovely. I slept very well on the crisp sheets and good mattress. Coffee at breakfast... More
