Would not recommend. Unfortunate circumstances landed me and my family at the western in from may to the first week of august. In the beginning mark the owner/manager was a godsend. He was good to my kids and worked with us on rent while we were getting on our feet. But at the end of school his wife moved to the property full time for the summer and things went downhill quickly. The other tenants are loud. Obnoxious and nosey. Amanda discusses everyone’s business with everyone. One tenant has a dog that is kept on the porch of there room so you smell urine and feces constantly. The water system is a mess. Breakers pop. The Wi-Fi was useless. We had mold in our room and there are several decrepit rooms with mold and mildew. You could smell the mold coming from the basement. Cleaning services were not offered and she got angry about people using their vacuum or broom to clean but then complained that the room was left dirty when we left. She constantly had my children afraid when I was at work by threatening to kick us out at every chance. Eventually our parking space was even taken from us. My child broke her arm on their personal property and no accommodation was offered at all. And the broken trampoline is still in the front of the property. The view is terrible unless you’re into broken down vehicles and or vehicles with no tags sitting in the lot. There is no room for improvement with the current managements wife on the property and no reasonable expectation of privacy. Was never happier to leave a place in my life

This motel is a diamond in the rough and is going to be even better when they finish up their current renovations. The new owner and staff at Western Inn are phenomenal! If you have any issue with your stay, they do everything in their power to fix it immediately. The room I stayed in was so clean! I felt at home and comfortable there. I NEVER typically feel comfortable walking barefoot in my hotel/motel room because the floors are often so dirty. This room was so clean that I felt fine in doing so and even played with my dog on the floor. I had an electric fireplace in my room, which was a nice touch for cooler days. My AC worked great while I visited and was needed this time around. And even though my pillows looked a little dated, they were very clean. Actually, my entire bedding set smelled as though it had just been washed for me that day of arrival. 😊 If you are interested in a friendly staff, a clean room, being still close to everything but away from the downtown scene....this is the place for you. This is also a great option if you are traveling with a dog that has some issues getting up and down stairs. These rooms are all at ground level, so you go right out your door to let them potty in the grass nearby. If you are interested in history and visiting Gettysburg for that reason, there is the 1800s McCurdy Schoolhouse across the street from the motel as well! New management means this motel is going to be a place you will want to check out!

Beverly Shaben The condition of the motel room was in disrepair, and apparently not cleaned. Stains on carpet. Hair on shower stall, and in the drain, before I even used the shower. The shower leaked ran out on to the carpet. Box spring on one bed was broken. The main slat on the other bed was loose or broken. The headboard fell down. If I could I would give them no stars or -5.

The owner of this motel, Peter, was very nice and helpful, HOWEVER the place is awful. We just returned home after being on the road at 27 different hotels/motels and this was the worst. It was filthy, the shower floor caving in, no window in the bathroom- just a big hole in the screen. We were here for 14 hours - too long. I'm sure this place broke Board of Health and fire laws. Someone needs to put this place out of its misery.

The manager was super helpful and very friendly the motel is disgusting! The bed had hair under the covers from previous visitors. The spare blanket had hair all over it. There was stuff spilled all over the walls. Stains on the curtains. Light switches without a face plate. Carpet hasn't been vacuumed anytime in the last week. An inch of dirt on the fan. A huge hole in the bathroom wall. Stains in the sink. Some type of powder in the fridge when we arrived. One tiny little trash can. No coffee pot. Sugar in the main office that was so old it was just a big hard clump. Mold all over the shower. Not worth the money at all.

I stayed there last night. Weird odor, bare wood flooring...like 2 by 4s from the hardware store. Looked like it had been weeks or months since the very old carpet had been vacuumed. Sink was grungy, shower floor covered in bugs, No washcloth...used hot water from sink (but didn't touch sink) and hand towel to wash up/sponge bathe, bed was decent. No deadbolt so propped desk chair under doorknob to keep people from entering with the key. No wifi...just real dirty...I've seen rustic campgrounds that are cleaner...MUCH CLEANER. I was desperate, as I don't see well after dark and needed to stop hotels from Dillsburg and all of Gettysburg booked full. As soon as it was light out, I dropped the key in the drop box and left. Old is one thing, but dirty...there's no excuse. Bathroom was absolutely filthy...I took pictures with my phone.

We wanted a room with outside access because we smoke. We got the room for 2 days bit i do not think i can stay here for 2 days in this room. It smells very bad and i felt dirty when i walked in. We did not see the room before we paid and that was a mistake. We are sitting outside because we do not want to be in the room. Stay away it is not worth it!! Drive as far as you have to for another motel. The floor in the bathroom is falling in.

DO NOT stay here, ever. It looked dilapidated, unsafe, and unappealing from the outside, and the inside was even worse. The room had an odor when we entered it. It was a chilly day and we hoped to turn on the heat, but were told that it was not the season for heat. As I walked into the bathroom I noticed many bugs around the drain in the bathtub. I turned to the sink...... same thing. The manager claimed they were not bugs and repeatedly stated that the room had been cleaned. No way were we going to stay there! He offered to move us to another room, but we insisted he refund our money, which he eventually did, unhappily. You’re better off sleeping in your vehicle.

drove up drove right out of lot , pictures do not resemble the property. If you can't say anything nice don't say it. i called to let the owner know i was not staying there because of the condition of the hotel @ $195 for one night. He then immediately charged my credit card which i had to dispute and won now he is taking me to court for theft of services. Stay far away

Wanted to visit Gettysburg and this was the best option in my mind. Owner was extremely nice and made sure all my accommodations were met. Although pictures need to be updated, I disagree in regards to the comments abut the sanitation. The owner has implemented stricter cleanliness and sanitation standards, which showed during my stay. Definitely worth recommending/ staying again in the future.
