the location was fair, the beds decent, the staff average some were helpful other not so much. I like the idea of the en-suite, not many hostels do this. and the ability to cook your own food to pay for prepared food (Pasta night for example) is also a good option. I would stay again.

The location is pretty awesome and safe, just next to a historic Catholic church and enco library. Washington monument and Walter museum are just few blocks away. u can also easily take the free and clean purple route bus to the inner harbor, the bus comes every 10 minutes. The people in the hostel is extremely helpful, u can ask... More

The hostel is located in a really safe Baltimore neighbourhood, I walked at 5 am towards Penn Station and I had no problem. Dormitories are spacious and clean; in room #2 we had the bathroom inside the dormitory, it was really comfortable. The staff is definitely friendly and helpful, it is also possible to cook free pancakes for breakfast. The... More

This was my first stay at a hostel. In fact, I didn't really know what the difference between a hostel and a hotel was before staying here. As soon as I went to check out my room, the major difference became apparent: you sleep in a dormitory, not in your own room! Given this communal sleeping situation, I was surprised... More

The service provided was very good. The receptionists were very friendly and provided much advice. There were volunteers working there too. The room we stayed in was the double private room. It was well furnished, the bed was luxurious for the amount we paid (USD $74). The toilet was clean, spacious and well kept. The living room and dining areas... More

HI Baltimore occupies a historic brownstone in a very chic area of Baltimore. Stayed in a six-bed dorm the evening before a cruise departure, and had very positive interactions with both staff and other hostelers. Location is really quite impressive, located a block away from North Charles Street. Heading North, there's easy access to Walters Art Museum, trendy restaurants, and... More

After ten years of carting by backpack all over Australia, Europe, Asia and North America I have to say this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. From the moment I stepped through the door I was made to feel welcome and at home. The hostel is in a beautiful old building, very clean and full of character. The... More

We were blown away with how great this hostel is. The location is great, right near Mount Vernon. We walked there from the train station. There are tons of great places to eat nearby, and many of them offer deals for guests of the hostel. It's also close to the University of Baltimore, so there were lots of people my... More

I stayed 3 nights here and it was a good time. rates were very good and if you don't mind hostel style living- shared bunks, and bathroom, kitchen then this is the place. The hostel is in an old well maintained and pleasing building near Mount Vernon. I really liked the atmosphere and kind staff. There was a concert there... More

I spent 4 nights at the Baltimore youth hostel, and have no complaints.....well.....I got 2 spider bites, and saw a large spider in my room, but that's not likely anything they could prevent and there didn't seem to be an infestations, since I only SAW one (and no webs). The hostel is in a lovely historic building directly across the... More
