We loved staying in this stately hotel! It was very conveniently located in an area that had many places to experience on foot. The staff were all very attentive and kind. In spite of some negative reviews about the noise of the parking garage next door, we never had a problem, even though our room was facing the garage and on the second floor across from the elevator! As far as having no room service, it was hardly a problem. Qinns is just around the corner. Is this hotel perfect, no it shows some age, That's what we love! Better than the sleekness of a chain.

Hotel's Favourite
This was our second time staying at the Planter's Inn. Great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. Not too many thrills, but perfect for a short stay. Great prices too! Would definitely recommend!

What makes this a 5 is the staff. From the person who greets you at front door to the staff behind the desk. They couldn’t be more friendly and making wonderful suggestions to make our stay the best. Our room was nicely appointed with antiques and hotel centrally located to everything within walking distance!

We are here now. Feeling really ripped off. $400/night. Staff is pleasant but there is Absolutely no service. Good location. Beautiful windows with view of parking garage (in fairness, the shades are closed in the photos on the website. A clue that I did not pick up.) Really very very run down. No “warm cookies in the evening.” And even if there were, fairly certain we would not eat them. Bed is comfortable but whatever machinery is running over the closet is rattling all night—that’s why I’m up at 5am writing this review. Peeling paint. Dirty windows. Questionable cleanliness of carpet. No cable and very weak wifi. These feel like bits as I write but at $400/night, I expected a lot more. Feels like $150/night or even $250/night given location might have been more appropriate.

My daughter-in-law recommended this hotel and it was wonderful. We were there for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff are helpful and good at their jobs. The decor was beautiful in the lobby area and in the rooms. The bed was on the best I ever slept on.

We stayed here in February and were very pleased. The hotel is older but nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. The location was perfect as we were able to walk where we wanted to go. We would stay here again and would recommend to others looking for a good hotel at a good price.

The establishment is dirty and your desk staff were rude and unaccommodating. The first thing we noticed was the dirt. I challenge you to run your fingers over anything and not find dust and dirt. The floors appear to have not been vacuumed recently. Our first room had a toilet issue we discovered upon check in at noon. We informed the front desk and were told maintenance would fix it (the bowl did not fill with water, therefore the contents did not evacuate). We went to lunch and then sightseeing and upon our return (5 pm) my mother approached the new desk person and asked if it had been fixed. She was told to go upstairs and check for herself. We returned to the room and the contents of the toilet were still there. Back downstairs she was told there were no other rooms and a maintenance man was sent up with a plunger. After 4 trips up to the room he established it could not be fixed. Miraculously the valet appeared and said we were being moved. Room #2 was a nightmare of a different kind. Every 10 minutes a huge bag occurred above the doorway, loud enough to startle. This went on all night waking us if we managed to fall asleep. I was tempted to pack up and move around 1 am but my 84 year old mother whose birthday trip this was, was too exhausted to move. The experience, though brief, was awful. Desk staff were rude and sarcastic with her and gave the impression that they could not care less. And of course I had to pay to park for this catastrophe. The only saving grace was the valet staff. They were all friendly, polite and very very accommodating.

Very disappointed in our experience at this hotel. We were excited to be going back after having a great experience about five years ago. Unfortunately this time was a disaster. The first room we were given wasn’t ready so we were moved to a second room down the hall. When we opened the door the high heat was immediately apparent. The thermostat had been turned up as high as it would go. I wonder if there was a disgruntled staff member on that floor? We called the front desk to complain and they said they would call us back. After waiting a few minutes, we called again and were told that they tried calling us but the phone didn’t work. We were moved to a room on a lower floor. The room was much smaller and not well maintained. The bed squeaked, one of the posts on the four poster bed was loose and there was paint splatter on the bathroom floor. Not a great experience

Bad experience! The hotel does not offer housekeeping. The third night of my three night stay the room was so hot I could barely sleep. I plugged my hairdryer into the electrical socket and it sparked up and burned out my hairdryer. The website says the hotel offers free newspaper, a bottle of water, warm cookies at night. None of that happened. We did not have a luggage rack or extra table so we had to put our suitcases on the floor. When I spoke with the manager about these concerns he blew me off. I definitely won’t stay there again, but the location was absolutely perfect.

The hotel is in a prime location in Savannah, convenient to everything. The room decor is done very well it has the charm of old Savannah. The staff was very nice as well. The price was also reasonable. There was zero noise from other rooms. There are a few things that could be improved on though. The thing that I struggled with the most is that the rooms are directly across from a large parking garage. The entire side of the room has large windows looking at the parking garage. There is no view from any of the windows in the hotel, and I can live with that. At night though, the parking garage is lit up brightly and the curtains, although beautiful, do not completely block out the light. You need to bring a sleep mask with you if this might be an issue for you. I attached a night time photo in the room to this review. All the lights were off inside. Also, we sleep in a queen bed at home and the bed was absolutely smaller than a queen. The mattress was springy, and not the worst I have slept on, but it was not one of those lovely mattresses you tend to get in better hotels. The last thing is a personal complaint that I have after staying in many hotels... people have different needs when it comes to pillows and so many hotels like to put 4 fluffy, firm pillows on the bed. It would be nice if there were 2 fluffy, firm pillows and 2 flatter pillows so there is a choice for the occupants. I would definitely stay here again, but I would be more prepared
