We enjoyed the best remote outdoor vacation we have ever experienced at Iniakuk Lake. First of all, the lodge is located in one of the most beautiful places in Alaska. The only buildings on the north end of this five mile long lake is the lodge. Only two other cabins are on this lake and they are on the other... More

This review is more specific to Caribou Cabin, rather than to the lodge itself. Caribou Cabin is a bit lighter on amenities than Iniakuk Lodge, but other than not having a chance to check out the lodge, I have no regrets about not staying there. The reality is that Caribou Cabin isn't about the cabin, it's about Alaska. The cabin... More

The tremendous fun and adventure begins if you check in for you flight with a 12 passenger plane from Fairbanks to Bettles. At the air field of Bettles you feel like in a movie from 1950 about tough aviation heroes and their passion for small planes. (Don`t miss the Visitor Center ) The floatplane that we took to Iniakuk Lake... More

The adventure began by hopping into a 4 person snow plane for our 2 hour flight to the Brooks Range (this my dream getting to sit up front, ready to take over at any stage!!). To say the scenery was stunning belies the beauty of the snow capped mountains and sheer remoteness. Our arrival was on a winter snow capped... More

Iniakuk Lodge and the remote Caribou Cabin in the Gates of the Arctic National Park in the Brooks Range were truly a “once in a lifetime” travel experience. At Iniakuk Lodge, we enjoyed reading on our balcony overlooking the lake and mountains while watching Common and Pacific Loons (first sighting for us of a Pacific Loon!). Pat’s meals were delicious... More

The central Brooks range, one of the last great wildernesses, is magnificent and awe-inspiring. To have access to the range from the Gaedekes’ Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge made it one of the greatest trips we have ever taken. The facilities are top notch in a location where, given the remoteness, what they offer is a true luxury. The view of... More

Alaska is an amazing state full of good people... but because of the volume of summer visitors I often felt like I was being herded through the points of interest and seen more as a dollar sign than an interested traveler.. This all changed when my wife, son, and I landed on Iniakuk Lake. The flights out to the lodge... More

Family owned Iniakuk Lodge, north of the Arctic Circle in the Brooks Mountain Range, was fabulous beyond expectations! We have traveled all over the world, but hiking the Brooks Range, seeing it from the vantage point of a small plane, floating the Alatna River with John, and visiting with Pat, Rachael and Max at the lodge, was unbelievable. The Gaedeke... More
