I live a couple of blocks from Akwaaba, so my perspective is a bit different in terms of the neighborhood, but I certainly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a really comfortable, genuine experience that contributes to the community as well. I got married at Akwaaba, and also recommend the Mansion as a venue for weddings. In every way,... More

I frequented the Akwaaba in Brooklyn monthly over a 3 year work assigment in New York city, It became my home away from home. Over the months of 2-3 night stays, I was often the recipient of much caring and hospitality from Monique, Glenn and Erica. Fact is I love the place. So when I heard that the new Bed... More

We spent a night at Akwaaba around Easter. Arriving a bit later than planned we were nonetheless greeted warmly by owner Monique, who showed us around the B&B and recommended neighbouring restaurants for the evening meal. After walking around and admiring the glorious old brownstones and daffodils, we somehow ended up spending the entire evening at Essence Bar and Restaurant... More

We stayed at Akwaaba Mansion for 4 nights at the end of April and had a wonderful time. Our visit to New York was magical and what made it extra special was the Akwaaba experience! From the time we arrived (when we were greeted by Erica and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea), to the time we left we could not... More

İt was quite romantic and unique. The building is historical and very good located. It's possible to fall asleep with the sounds of birds in the middle of the city. The price is reasonable. The staff is Erica, helpful and friendly. The owner, Monugie is also. We took the jumping the broom room. They asked whether we want candles at nights,... More

We enjoyed a comfortable and unique experience in this mansion built in the mid-1800s and in the friendly neighborhood of Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn, the 4th largest city in the US. The breakfast was delicious and presented nicely. The room was clean and beautifully set. The host was helpful, accommodating and friendly. We would definitely attempt to stay there again upon... Lovely old mansion on a quiet street in an upscale part of Brooklyn. It has four large rooms on the second floor. No elevator so people with mobility problems may have a problem. But very spacious rooms and beautiful dining room and living rooms areas. Breakfasts are substantial, excellent and superior to most other b and b's we have stayed... More

My husband and I stayed here two nights after our wedding. The honeymoon suite is truly lovely. The hot tub is wonderful. The breakfast was really nice, too. The whole building has a lot of personality and history. A really great b&b experience in an unlikely part of town.

My bf and I are really busy with work and school, so he surprised me with a "staycation" at Akwaaba, and I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised! The host was extremely welcoming, (sorry, I'm bad with names) she gave us a nice tour of the property and left her phone number with us in case we had any... More

We came up to Brooklyn from Florida to visit our son who lives in the neighborhood. What we came home with was new family from Akwaaba! We will definitely be returning. How could we not... with the ambiance, the relaxed home setting, cozy fireplace in the parlor, homemade cookies and lemonade iced tea, the down to earth people, and certainly... More
