We stayed one night in a "cabin". It was actually a room in a building with five other rooms. It was very cute with a big front porch and a very close walk down to the lake. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. I wish I had planned to stay longer. My only issue was our room... More

Four of us stayed in two rooms in the main lodge in late August at the end of our week long trip to Glacier NP. Earlier in the week we had stayed in East Glacier, Prince of Wales and Many Glacier, and, because of reviews, I had the lowest expectations for Lake McDonald Lodge. However, it turned out to be... I was going to give 4 stars because of the no elevator. We got 3rd floor , but no elevator - had to climb all 3 floors with all luggage. good work out. nice food, nice location neat train station. very near to west glacier small town - you get nice Mexican - or pizza joints there. We actually went... More

I did not actually stay at this property, I visited it as part of my travels in the park and I want to mention this to give you food for thought on your planned vacation here. I visited in May 2012 right as the season started. I had thought about booking this location as part of my vacation but the... More

We spent 8 different nights in Glacier National Park last September 2012. 2 of our nights were here at Lak McDonald Lodge. We had a large cabin, with a door opening up lakeside. There was a picnic table a few steps from our cabin to go and sit on, drinking our coffee in the AM. BUT there really was no... More

This is a beautiful National Park Lodge in such a great setting. We thought the pricing was very reasonable for the standard and location of the accommodation, however the room was very small. The Lodge had a lovely atmosphere and offers dining room meals as well as bar meals. We chose the bar and really enjoyed a good value, informal... More

The setting could not be prettier! Clean but very basic accomodations. No TV or Cell phone coverage, but it didn't matter because we were out hiking and enjoying the beauty of the park. Food was fine, not exceptional but to be expected in a National Park.

We had a lakeside cabin and it was fine for what we wanted. They are old but have been updated enough to please most everyone. We were in cabin 13 which is divided up into 3 separate suites. Beds were comfortable. The shower is very small but who cares. The staff at the lodge is great. Food at the Russell's... More

Location, location, location. If you want a Hampton, you'll have to stay in West Glacier. Lake McDonald Lodge has a variety of lodging options--main lodge, large cabins, small cabins, and motor inn. We managed to get one of the ADA rooms in the lodge--large room with large "modern" bathroom (tub). It was located next to lobby--we worried about noise, but... More
