By far best value in GNP. Folks that work it for Glacier Inc. Were wonderful and watched our stuff while we day hiked after checking out.Great view of Lake MacDonald right out yet window. The lake is at your doorstep. Don't confuse it with the village lodge up the road...the service here is MUCH better.

I stayed in the Village Inn during an August 2011 trip to Glacier National Park. As stated by most everyone, the view was amazing. We were on the upper level, and it never got old just staring at the mountains and Lake McDonald. The room itself was nice enough. The decor and furnishings are a little dated, but they are... More

That about sums it up, a room with a view! It's like watching the Discovery Channel literally at your doorstep. We arrived in town mid-day and were taken completely surprised by the picture window overlooking beautiful Lake McDonald. After a nice dinner in town, we were drawn back to the Village Inn by the sound of horns. When we arrived... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Village inn at Apgar. As other reviewers have noted, the room is basic. But the view and the peaceful atmosphere are incredible. After a long day of hiking or driving the Going-to the-Sun road, there is nothing like relaxing on the balcony outside your room, drinking a Moose Drool, and looking out over Lake... More

My wife, in-laws, and I stayed in a room with a kitchenette for three nights in early September 2011, and enjoyed our stay. Be prepared for aging but clean accommodations and an incredible view out of your picture window. The kitchenette included a full-size oven, suitable for frozen pizza, and a large refrigerator, but very few pots and pans. As... More

The lakeside location makes for an incredible view which changes throughout the day. The kitchen is a bonus but be warned - it is not well supplied. There is a 4 cup coffeemaker, 1 saucepan, 1 cheap skillet, one flimsy spatula. No grill or toaster. Only 4 of the following, glasses, plates, forks, spoons. There are 2 chairs outside each... More

Fine room, perfectlocation right at the lake. I remember early morning dives in the lake and still enjoy the many pictures I made close by the inn. Beautiful. Service was friendly and OK. Just what is needed. Nice atmosphere of shops and restaurant close by.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay here. I'll mostly echo what others have said in that waking up to this view of Lake MacDonald is worth every penny. Upper floor rooms are more desirable because there are fewer people walking by your bedroom window. Not sure if they take requests. Bob at the front desk was helpful and fun to talk... More

First things first. This is a hotel in a national park. I have found that most hotels in national parks are basic, smaller, usually not luxurious, older, and slightly overpriced. There is no internet access or TV in our room on the west side of Glacier National Park. But you are in Glacier National Park to appreciate nature, so it... More

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights at the end of our 7 night Glacier/Waterton trip. I'll try to share a few things that aren't already repeated several times in previous reviews. I always feel honest expectations and proper research are the keys to being satisfied with your lodging on a vacation. First, and most important, the reason to... More
