In the winter only the Lewis and Clark cabins are available (at a great rate!) unless the lodge opens for special events. NOTHING is open in West Glacier (Belton) which is wonderful. Our family stayed her during a trip to glacier park. We picked it because of the history. It is beautifully restored so that was fun. We loved Belton Chalet, with its old world charm. Noreen and all of the staff could not do enough to assist us. Be sure to take a walk over the Amtrak tracks, and down to the original bridge over Whitefish River. The river is spectacular there. The rooms are clean and comfortable. As the other reviewers have mentioned, the train is right across the street. Bring ear plugs. The restaurant next door is very, very good. Unique and tasty food. Service at desk helpful. coffee in the morning leaves a lot to be desired. Good diner right down the street for a good breakfast before starting out in the park.
