The Columns was the third - and best - accommodation I stayed at in my three days in Kampot. I really MUST learn how to plan better in the future! A local Cambodian family has converted an French colonial building in a quiet side street near the riverfront into an outstanding B & B. They have completed two of three... More

We were delighted with this charming hotel. The property is in a row of French provincial houses. Currently they have two buildings with two empty ones in-between, which they plan to renovate soon. I think they plan to close to do this over the wet season and re-open in October-ish. We had a lovely room on the first floor with... More

I would have rated this hotel higher had there not been an ongoing issue with ONE of the amenities they said they offer......WiFi. I don't care if it is provided free, I need WiFi and it must be reliable for me to be happy with any hotel in which I stay. The receptionist actually admitted that the hotel's WiFi "contract"... We originally booked into the Columns for 2 nights bit felt so comfortable there - and loved Kampot so much - that we stayed another 2 nights. Thavy, who runs the hotel, could not do enough for us, and ll the staff made us feel so welcome. The room was modern and very clean - hot water is always available... More

We have stayed in Columns as we could not extend our stay in Rikitikitavi. The only room available was no 6 on the ground floor to the right side of the reception (separate door). Room was ok but nothing more than that. No windows so coming back after whole day there was simply bad air in the room. Luckily air-con... More

New hotel centrally located in quiet street 1 minute walk from riverside and old marked. Very welcoming and attending staff, that did everything they could to make our stay as good as possible. Safe in the room and fast wifi! Nice and clean rooms, good quality bathrooms with separate step-in rain shower. We loved the homemade jam that came with... More

A lot of little touches makes the difference between a nice place and a great place. some of the little touches at the columns included a rain water shower head, thick terry cloth bath towels, an extremely comfortable mattress and the iPod docking station. definitely one of the best places to stay in kampot.

We stayed two nights at the Columns on our way back to Phnom Penh Airport. The hotel is very good located in a quiet road. There is not much traffic and to take the breakfast in front of the hotel is really relaxing. Breakfast is simple but good in quality. The hotel staff is very helpful and the owner is... More

Great place to stay.... many people travel to places like Kampot thinking the $20 room is the way to go. I encourage you to pay and stay at The Columns, there will be no regret. Kampot is good for one night if you are on a tight schedual, two nights if you need to relax - and this is why... More

Stayed for two nights as a break from Phnom Panh and liked it very much - we felt at home. Very quiet and nicely renovated, the rooms are spacious and simply decorated but nicely done. We loved the rain water shower - lots of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Staff were very sweet, especially Thavy,... More
