The location of this hotel was perfect for our visit to see our niece who is a student at the University of Wisconsin. The room was small, probably a bit overpriced for the size, but the convenient location and cleanliness made it well worth the money. You can tell this hotel has been around a while, but I was super... More

I had asked for a room away from the street, but all of the singles face the street, where students congregate outside State Street Brats, a local bar. But the noise Friday night inside the hotel was worse than that coming up from the street--people running up and down the halls and slamming doors. Someone partly unscrewed the peep-hole from... I sincerely apologize for your experience at our hotel. Your stay fell far short of what we strive to provide our guests. I was notified of the issues at 2 a.m. and instructed our overnight staff on being more pro-active with unruly guests. I would like the opportunity to make this right and will contact you via private message here... More

I stayed at this hotel during a visit to my son who attends the University of Wisconsin. The hotel is located right next to campus and right on State Street, the hot spot in town for shops and restaurants. The free parking so close to campus can't be beat. You can walk to anywhere on campus, all up and down... More

I have stayed for two nights in University Inn, and found it really comfortable for short stay. The place is in a great location, right next to campus and capitol. But a little bit noisy during weekend nights.

I have stayed at various hotel in madison and I found perfect for short stay. I usually go for weekends and they have a very good rate. Right in the center of town and have a free parking as well. The look of the hotel is very 70s and bunker like but the upside is that the rooms are clean... More

This place is in a great location, but the hotel is dirty and feels like a frat boy house. The walls are thin and the hotel is loud. The carpets felt wet, and the metal door had splashes of god knows what on it from god knows when. It just felt dirty. The basics are taken care of, and the... More

An affordable, clean hotel in a good central location with lots of life nearby. It was just a little on the noisy side but not too bad for a city centre on a Saturday night.

Right on State Street, close to great shops/restaurants and the University--the location couldn't be beat. A very no frills hotel yet clean and comfortable.

I chose this hotel based on its location close to the University and in the downtown area. This was the only good thing about this hotel. Their website claims that it has been "updated" but I found the only aspect of the hotel that was updated was the lobby, which was conveniently the only photo on their website. The rest... More

We are sorry that this guest did not have an enjoyable stay at our hotel. We were unaware of any problems with the guests stay until checkout and we wish we could have had an opportunity to remedy them. The guest did stay with us for two nights but we only charged them for one. We also recognize that there... More

This hotel is in a great location. Close to the University and right on State street. We paid a much higher rate than usual because it was graduation weekend. The worst part of our stay was that there was no hot water in the shower both mornings. It was lukewarm at best. When I told that to the front desk... More
