Decided on a last minute trip to the Dunes, having never been there before. The Dunes area itself was great and finding this hotel was just the icing on the cake. As previous poster Sandy M wrote, this hotel does look exactly like it's web site pics! Grand entrance with fireplace, beautiful! There are sitting areas on every floor inviting... More

What a great surprise! Never been to Indiana Dunes and tossed around (from internet) staying at a B&B for $140 per night or Spring House Inn for 1/3 the cost. We LOVE B&Bs, but are also thrifty. .... We opted for the Spring House Inn and so glad we did! Nice, clean, roomy, quiet rooms.......'gathering' areas on each floor and... More

My group of college friends (40-something professionals) started weekend get-a-ways about 4-5 years ago typically renting a lake house along the Dunes lakeshore; away from the city to decompress and hangout. When the lakehouse thing became challenging (dividing payments, sleeping arrangements and other responsibilities) I decided to select Springhouse after stumbling upon it during our fall 2011 outing; and I'm... This hotel is set back off a main road, is quiet, not usually highly occupied and very affordable. Last stayed in a jaccuzzi king room and had to switch rooms due to the jacuzzi not working but the staff was quick to get us into another room. The hotel is in need of room renovation but seeing two different room... More

My boyfriend and I reserved a room here and were happily surprized that everything turned out as well. Our room was very clean, jacuzzi worked very well and hotel was close to a lot of shopping and resturants. The only downside was that the bed was a bit stiff. Nice little spot for the money!

I live right down the road but anytime we want to just getaway or refer friends and family who are in town visiting this is our place. The prices are totally reasonable, the lobby is beautiful. The rooms are run down...but each room has outside access which is really great, and if you can..request a room on the creek/woodland side,... More

A subtitle for this review might be, "Looks Can Be Deceiving." When we found ourselves having to make an unplanned trip to Chicago for a medical consult, we did some quick online research for overnight lodging en route and found some positive reviews for The Spring House Inn, about an hour outside Chicago in Porter, IN. Our first surprise was... More

I spend my wedding night at springhouse, it was a gift from my parents. I can't believe how things have gone downhill. The breakfast lady was very rude and has no business working with people. Customer service is not her strong suit. The "manager" Veronica also has no customer service skills. She was the most rude person I have ever... More

cons: bad ventilation - halls smelled "old" and we could smell the people before us when we first stepped into the room. tub faucet dripped, sink scratched and pitted, whirlpool not functioning for 2 years, but still advertised in the hotel guide in the room. PROs: nice size room, EXCELLENT view, all rooms have a deck, quiet, relaxing, cozy, unique,... More
