We were very satisfied for our money as the hotel is clean, cozy, quiet, and climate controlled. My husband has asthma and allergies and had no problems. Louis and other staff are very helpful and accommodating. We've never been photographed so much in our lives as this is the stop for all tourists on Royal. Sitting out on the balcony,... More

We had a delightful four nights at the Cornstalk. I loved the decor. Our room had gold curtains, a gold painted ceiling, a chandelier, antique furniture (some of it a bit wobbly), a beautiful bay window and red and gold fabric wall coverings. The building is nearly 200 years old, so the chic is getting a little bit shabby, but... More

I had a week in NOLA, and hoped to spend it all at the Cornstalk. They were booked for two nits of my stay, so I started the week at the Monteleone. Monteleone wins, hands down. The Cornstalk is like a hostel, but $200 a night. The room was VERY dark and cold. No thermostat in the room. No shampoo... More

We would like to sincerely apologize for any displeasure or discomfort that this guest received while they were staying at the Cornstalk Hotel. We appreciate their opinion and hope that we can use any criticism to improve our service. The Cornstalk Hotel does have a resident manager who is available 24 hours a day. During the stay, the guest had... More

Checked in early evening on a Friday when we met the proprietor and desk worker who gave us a comprehensive handout of restaurants and things to do ;but that was the last we saw of them. We had to wait 2 hours for someone to arrive to settle up the bill the evening before we left. This old Victorian historic... More

Each time we returned to our hotel we felt so proud walking up the steps. Built in 1816 originally as a private home, it has plenty of character. It is on the Historic Registry and is well cared for.. We stayed in room 11 which was quiet. Louis and his wife were very attentive and exuded such warmth. The doors... More

Just one night at the Cornstalk this week for a trade show and wish I had more time. Small room but if you like B&B type hotels with character, this is a great spot. Bed very confortable and plenty of hot water in the shower -- that is all I need or ask for. Pat O'Briens and the rest of... More

Since I'd never visited New Orleans before I searched high and low for a hotel to give me a classic French Quarter experience at a reasonable price. I didn't want to stay at a larger chain hotel because I figured I could do that anywhere USA. The Cornstalk Fence Hotel met all of my expectations. The only reason I didn't... More

Nothing that hasn't been said before. We booked with a group of friends and ended up snagging the last (and smallest room) in the hotel. We were so glad we did. The room was small, but comfortable. We slept well (great bed) and really enjoyed the wonderful service of Louis, who was helpful and informative. The only thing we were... More

We spent all 6 nights in New Orleans at the Cornstalk Hotel and had the time of our lives! It is right in the middle of the French Quarter on a major street (Royal). Walking to any of the famous landmarks in the quarter is very easy, safe, and enjoyable. This 200 year old hotel has a romantic history and... More
