For starters, the staff is great. Very polite and helpful. Always a smile and a happy face! I felt like the employees are very happy, which makes for excellent customer service. The room was IMMACULATE! The bedding was very high quality, the sheets and blankets smelled so good! The rooms are very efficient with all the conveniences you would expect... More

We stayed at the Hotel Seward on May 26, 2012 and had a wonderful experience. We took the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Seward. As soon as we were off the train, a hotel shuttle was waiting and took us straight to the hotel. The hotel staff was very attentive and we were able to check-in early (at 11:30 am).... More

We came down to Seward to celebrate our anniversary and as a last vacation in Alaska due to being transferred to the lower 48. Needless to say we had very high expectations. Hotel Seward is astronomically higher than we expected. We booked the executive king view room and are glad we did. At times we just wanted to stay in... More

I have to admit that I am baffled by the positive reviews about this hotel. We were supposed to stay here for four nights, but after one night we are left because we simply couldn't bear it. The hotel is very dark and dank. There is a musty smell in the entire hotel, and the rooms smell of mildew that... More

My sister and her family were visiting from Wisconsin. We decided to all pile in a borrowed Tahoe and head to Seward for a few days. We found an amazing deal via Kenai Fjords. This package included a four hour Gray Whale watching tour, a night's stay at Hotel Seward and tickets to the Sea Life Center. This was the... More

Hotel Seward is a small, intimate property with beautiful views of Resurrection Bay. The staff is welcoming, the bay window design of the large suites adds to the appeal, and the Silverhook coffee (wholesale from Kaladi Bros.) ensures a perfect wake-up call. The king size bed with tons of pillows and blankets is another reason to return!

I read pages of glowing reviews for this hotel before booking, and I must tell you... These people are either expecting WAY too little or are too easily impressed. As a nearly life long Alaskan, who has made MANY trips to Seward, I was not impressed with this hotel. The lady who took my reservation was not only difficult to... More

This was the perfect place for our winter Alaskan Adventure. If you are looking for a cookie cutter hotel, then you should move on to your motel 6, etc. If you want to stay in a place with rich history, amazing views, excellent food, and attentive service, then look no further. It made our trip more memorable because of our... More

We went down on spring break weekend with the neighbors (2 adults, 6 kids) and had such a great experience. The owner was right there when we checked in, the girl at the front was very sweet. The lobby is small and there is a lot of Alaskan art, history pieces, and of course taxidermy. The kids loved walking through... More
