We spent 4 nights with at Chateau Courtebotte and seriously did not want to leave. The chateau has been beautifully decorated with the historic and modern combined. The rooms were all different-we stayed in the Vintage room, which was lovely. But what made it the most special was the assistance we received during our stay from Isabelle-what a great hostess!... I was so impressed with this place that it's prompted me to write my first review in nearly half a decade of using this website. My only hesitation is that the continued rave reviews will soon render it too popular - but selfishness should never win out when it comes to wine country. At risk of plagerising the previous entries,... More

Honestly, we were completely blown away by this place. Professional, hospitable, beautifully decorated and all the small touches you can think of. Isabelle and Pascal were superb hosts. We stayed for 2 nights in the Capri Suite (2 bed) with our 2 sons. Stunning rooms and bathroom overlooking the river. Beautiful furniture, linens etc even down to hair straighteners!! Brilliant.... Really competent, professional and efficient management. We loved the location and the room. It was very large, well appointed and the bed was to die for. The owner recommended that we visit the local auberge for dinner. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. (Auberge St Jean). How it does not have a Michelin star is beyond us and it is very... More

We are very lucky that prior to arriving we extended our stay to 6 nights. I would have found it difficult to leave before that. The renovation and decorations that have taken place in this Chateau need to be seen to be believed. It is lavish and tasteful and we could have stayed in the Patio room for the duration... More

Found this amazing place on the internet and it has been one of the great finds of our trip. We have recently discovered the joys of staying in these small places and it was wonderful. The chateau has retained is feeling of antiquity in the structure, but the decor is stylish and lavish, with a modern twist (think walk in rain... We are staying again the 4th time at this wonderful place and it will always be in our itinerary each year in France. We feel we are friends now and love our stay more and more each year. They are wonderful hosts and we wish them every success because they deserve it... A stylish haven with such class and distinction.... More

The place has a magic on its own. It's a small old castle, next to the water, with a great view. Perfectly renovated inside, with great taste and lavish materials. The outside is very well aranged, with plants, a facade not fully redone, but not at all come down either, just adding to the atmosphere of the property when you... More

We booked one night at the chateau - the first night of a two week holiday in the Dordogne. It was my partners birthday and I secretly emailed Isabelle the owner to ask if she could arrange a tour of a local vineyard and arrange dinner that evening in a good restaurant. Within two hours she had replied and confirmed... More

We had a wonderful stay and could not have asked for a better experience. Our hosts bent over backwards to help us enjoy our visit to the region. Isabelle set up a tour of a neighboring vineyard that was much more interesting and intimate than a normal 'tourist wine tour'. She also made reservations for us at a fantastic restaurant... More
