We stayed there overnight on our way to Juneau by boat. Hotel is old and rooms are average, a bit musty smelling. Front desk staff and bell boy (?) are snobby and not very welcoming. Maybe it was the rainy day. Good Thai food just next door to the hotel, very friendly waitress. Shops are walking distance. Great ice cream/sweets... More

We stayed here while on a Holland-America (HAL) cruise/tour of Alaska and the Yukon. (Westmark is owned by HAL.) This motel is showing its age and could use refurbishing. There were better Westmarks in Fairbanks, Dawson City and Whitehorse. This one was second worst of the whole land-based portion of the tour. (The one in Tok, AK took the prize... More

We were on a 10 day ferry journey through SE AK and had a pet with us and this place allowed a pet. The best part was they had a tub in the bathroom and after having a stad up shower for 3 months, I wanted a hot soak! It is average for a motel in Alaska. Most of them... More

We stayed at this hotel after getting off the Alaska Marine Ferry from Bellingham, Washington. We brought our car and wanted to get a nights rest before heading off to the Yukon. I'm glad that we had a reservation, because the hotel was full and there were lots of people in the lobby . We were greeted warmly and immediately... More

During our roundtrip through Alaska and Yukon this was the worst of all accomodations. The hotel was informed that we should come in late (by ferry). But after 10 pm you can find nothing to eat in Skagway and the hotel reception refers to a snack vending machine. The layout of the room in the annexes was a travesty. Two... More

An old building which is open only during the cruise season. A chilly night and the lobby was cold every time the door was opened. In the restaurant the staff could not get their act together and it was not the beginning of the season, either. No elevator in the main building. Other buildings were across the street and I... We stayed in several Westmark facities on our Holland America tour in Alaska. Starting with the McKinley Chalet in Denali, Wesmark-Fairbanks,Tok, DawsonCity,Whitehorse.  All of these facilities provided extremely satisifying quarters. Especially the small village of Tok.  That facility was nicely appointed and made it known that they were interested in the travellers welfare. This brings us to the facility at... More

Our room out Microtel'd Microtel as far as smallness. The room was tucked back into a corner, with hardly any natural light and was very shop-worn. For a chain that is run by Holland America, this was very down scale. We weren't on a cruise or tour, but booked on-line thru the Westmark website. We had the breakfast buffet in... More

My husband and I stayed one night in this hotel as part of a land/cruise tour with Holland America. Although Alaska is not known for it's five star accommodation, we did expect Holland America to maintain a level more in line with what we had booked on the cruise ship. Do not expect any luxuries. Our room was listed as... More

Worst service expereince ever! We are from Canada where the legal drinking age is 19. We went into the Bonanza and were not informed the legal drinking age was 21. They I.D'd my 20 & 1/2 year old friend (who was there with his father)...and passed his I.D. around to two different staff who both approved it....and served him a... More
