My wife and I stayed here while visiting my son at UW. As others have mentioned, it was built in the 1970s so the buildings seem a bit dated. I guess it used to be a think tank/retreat center for scientists. However, the rooms have been renovated. Our room was small and had a few minor glitches, but was very... More

We stayed at the Talaris Conference Center at the beginning of May for 3 nights. We chose this hotel because: - free parking - pet fee is $25US per STAY, and not per night like most other hotels - lots of green space for the dog - free breakfast - location, location, location! When we arrived, we were happy with... More

My family has stayed at Talaris for two appointments at Children's Hospital in Seattle. Once in April of 2011 and once in April 2012. The location in relationship to Children's is fantastic. You can actually walk there if you choose to or it is a 3 minute ride by car. The staff is friendly and the ground are beautiful. The... More

The grounds are nice, the rooms are simple (if a bit dated) but for the price (around $100 for a single) you can't do much better for the University District of Seattle. There no amenities to speak of, and no formal front desk staff, so be prepared for self-sufficiency. And it's probably best to have a car if you're staying... More

We came to visit my son that goes to UW over thanksgiving and ended up choosing this place because it was in the u district and it was pretty cheap. I was very surprised to see how nice the rooms were. (Vaulted ceilings, flat screen tv, clean bathrooms, spacious living room). The location is very convenient and quiet with a... More

I arrived at about 8 pm. It was already dark and the grounds of the Talaris are very wooded. Normally this would seem charming but on this night it just seemed creepy. The person at the check in was nice enough but then she told me my room was kind of weird. She didn't give me an option to swich... More

We visited the Talaris with a view to staying there during a short trip to Seattle. Upon looking at the facility and being shown a single queen room, we chose to go elsewhere. The reception staff were pleasant and the grounds are quite nice. The reception area and building we looked at is dated. The room itself was dark (even... More

Just spent four incredible days at the Talaris Conference Center. It truly is the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. 18 acres of natural beauty. Very peaceful. I would definitely stay there again.

This place is like staying in the middle of a beautiful park with grass, big shady trees and quiet too! The rooms are clean and comfortable although they are a little dates. Not to worry, the important things like bed, bath, carpets, tv, air conditioning all are updated and work great. There is a morning continental breakfast, a small fridge... More
