“There are better options, keep looking”

We stayed here last minute as we were stuck at the airport for the night. The only positive comments are that there is a free airport shuttle and the shuttle driver is great. Otherwise, the hotel desperately needs some updating, the rooms have a very odd and strong odor, the location is not great, and it's not cheap considering all... More

“A great deal close to the Airport”

After spending 15 nights at hotels in various places in Alaska during my very budget conscience first trip to the last frontier, I think the Puffin Inn was a very good deal. The lobby is very new, nice and spotlessly clean. A free continental breakfast (muffins, juice, coffee, milk) is set up every morning the lobby, and their free shuttle... More

We stayed at Puffin Place for 2 weeks in Sept 98 and our friends stayed 3 weeks. It was clean, the staff was very helpful, and we felt safe. The decor was plain and it did not have a "luxurious" feel, but I highly recommend it for the budget conscious traveler who is staying more than 3-4 days.
