My wife and I stayed at this sleepy little hotel for one night during our holiday to Iceland. I was not impressed. I am painfully aware of the high costs in Iceland, but for what we got out of it, this place would not be my first choice, should I have the opportunity to choose again. Here are the good... More

We booked a night here simply because of its location so we knew what to expect. The Reception desk is in the main building but our rooms were in a building back down the entrance drive and on the other side of the road. We entered a typical boarding school - functional but worn. Rooms were basic but reasonably clean,... More

I picked this hotel simply because it is the cheapest. This hotel chain in fact uses school dorm in summer. There is no private bathroom but at least there is a washbasin in the room. It is a comfortable stay. Breakfast is good!

We were in the second building which lacks the wifi connection. Showers and WC were in a rather small numbers (2 of each for the whole floor) and the room is quiet small, really looks like a student room (as this is probably one).

My husband and I visited family in Iceland and decided to do a drive round the country. We were looking for something cheap and clean. We have never tried this type of accommodation except for when we camped 2 years ago. I am often not keen on shared baths/toilets but we wanted cheap so that's what we booked. We booked... More

I have been quite disappointed by this hotel: very small bedrooms, tolet and shower very limited in number (and the shower was quite dirty and water coulnd't go away quickly). There is no free internet connection like in many other structures in iceland. All the hostels and guesthouses that I have been in Iceland were cheaper and better than this... More

The most known volcano in the world which blocked lots of flights across the world this year is just behind your window. Hotel is located in the school as all edda hotels. Rooms are spacious, shared bathroom. If you want to be as close aspossible to the volcano it is the best choice. Also Skogarfoss one of the biggest waterfalls... More

At first, I want to book edda in vik, but it was full already. so, another choice near vik is this one in skogar. Everything is good but all rooms are shared facilities, a bit troublesome. skogar waterfall nearby and my room face a big grassland, it's stunning!

The hotel is simple (shared showers) but clean and quiet. Top location in the countryside, walking up the river is spectacular. I was very impressed by the buffet dinner, huge choice and good quality. You have to book in advance, even if you're a guest! Otherwise, there is just one other place in the village to get food, a rather... More

I read a few negative comments before departure but decided to stay in this hotel nevertheless. It's true that there is very little choice besides this, and that all hotels in Iceland are overpriced, so anyone should be prepared for this. This taken into account, the hotel does provide good service, it's clean and with an excellent view! So if... More
