It seems this hotel used to be a school building. It's a grey two storey building with little character of it own but it's by far the only hotel in the area. It's located in the center of Reykholt, a town so small you can miss it when you blink your eyes. The hotel is perfectly located if you want... More

If you plan to stay at a hotel anywhere in the vicinity of Reykholt, you'll have to stay here--it is the only hotel in the area. It is a former school building converted to a hotel, and exudes all the ambiance that a mid-century concrete school building offers. It is adjacent to the Snorri museum, but nothing else. The nearest... More

We were staying at this hotel because our agent somehow booked us to an overbook hotel in Reykjavic. It took about 2.5 hours to drive from Reykjavic to Reykholt. What calmed me down was the scenery between Reykjavic to Reykhot. I wished I drove a small car so I could stop anywhere to take photos. The hotel is more like... More

We stayed at the Fosshotel for one night on our way to Thingvellir. As we had no other option on this day, we spent 26.900 ISK on a very basic room (No. 113) at the hotel and were very disappointed. Shabby-looking bathroom, old furniture - not quite what we had expected. It seems that other rooms have been refurbished, though.... More

We stayed here due to the fact that the road to the south was closed. Its a modern concrete box pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We made the mistake of eating in the Hotel restaurant in the evening as there wasn't much choice. The food was dreadful. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. If you have to... More

After driving a long way from the main road, it was surprising to come across this large, busy business hotel in a tiny village surrounded by farms. It was full of a large conference group who took over most of the dining room, so a bit of a culture shock after the small, quiet hotels we had stayed in in... More

When we arrived we didn't expect to find a so wonderful hotel: when we left the things in the room, the receptionist showed us the hotel, the diferents rooms, the restaurant and... the spa!!! It was free!!! The food was very good and the service too. And the hotel decoration was very nice. If I would have to say something... More

We ended up in the hotel around midnight as the nearby camping were we had booked a hut had its reception closed. We called the hotel and the receptionist gave us a 25% discount after we mentioned that we were coming from the camping and were looking for something not too pricey. You get excellent value for the money: our... More

We, a party of 4, stayed at this hotel for one night the first week in September, 2008. We booked two rooms with private bathrooms through the chain's website and chose this place because of the special they were running. It was our last night after having done the Ring Road counter clockwise. We arrived early afternoon to on a... More

This was the first hotel of three on a trip to Iceland. The town it was located in was very small, like most towns outside of Reykjavik. I stayed in a double room with my friend. The room was nice - two single beds pushed together, couch, table, chairs, bathroom had jacuzzi tub. The TV only got like two channels.... More
