This hotel is right across from the Convention Center and the Mississippi River. Stayed here for a conference. Nice stay. The hotel is quite old and has definitely been renovated. The rooms are a decent size. The restaurants nearby are awesome. There's a barbecue place as well a big momma's tamales and a nice pasta joint, all in walking distance.

The writer spent two nights at the NG and was disappointed. When one thinks of a grand hotel one expects older time tested amenities. There is no doorman, grand lobby or elegant decor or furnishings. The location is great, rooms are spacious clean and very comfortable. Excellent service from the front desk personnel specially Ms. Mae. This place is not a 5 but a 10. Highly recommend it.
