I am very grateful to the hotel staff for being kind enough to ship to me a very important item that I left behind. I would've had to have driven back 200 miles to get it, and they saved me a lot of trouble by being so helpful.

The Hotel Nipton is a historic landmark just north of the Mojave National Nature Preserve. Movie stars, government officials, and all sorts of other interesting people have been staying there since the 1930's. The hotel has approximately 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large living room/communal area. The rooms are very small but clean. The bathrooms were also clean, but... More

We we're looking for a good, alternative place to stay and booked two nights in one of Nipton's eco-lodges. The owners were welcoming, the view from the lodge was gorgeous, and Nipton is simply ideally located for exploration of the Mojave Desert. The lodge has basic features including an electric heater, beds, chairs & table, and a wood-fired stove for... More

The Nipton Hotel was the perfect relaxing retreat during our cross country road trip in October 2011. Nipton is a charming little old mining town located on the edge of the Mojave Desert Preserve. The hotel itself is a well preserved piece of the Old West. The bedroom we stayed in was simply decorated with nice antiques, and the hotel... More

If you love trains, you must stay there. You can sit infront of the hotel and wait for the next Union Pacific train. If you want something without trains (even at night) just go to another place, this is not for you.

Nipton is a rail road crossing out in nothing really, with a store, a hotel, a closed restaurant and some residential buildings. Nipton itself is a magical place, sitting on the porch watching the trains go by and honk their horns (keep this in mind) was great. I really liked Nipton as a place, but the hotel is not worth... Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry we did not live up to your expectations. We want you to know the changes we have made since your review. We now have disposable ear plugs for use in each room. "Twas night time in Nipton and all through the town, Not a creature was stirring, there was not a... More

My brother and I were on a motorcycle trip to Los Angeles and wanted to stay somewhere convenient to the Mojave Preserve. We found Hotel Nipton on the internet and decided to take a chance. The website boasted of eco-tents (which sound kinda cool), a restaurant, free wi-fi and laundry facilities. Upon arrival, none of our reservation e-mails had been... More

We are so sorry your stay was not what you expected. KD, the clerk who checked you in is very sorry she did not follow protocol and write the password to WiFI on your check - in sheet. We have not been shut done by the state and are unsure how you got this bad information. We have been redoing... More

We were wary based on other reviews, but wanted to be close to the Mojave Preserve and this seemed like the best option. It fit our needs perfectly. We stayed in the hotel itself (eco-tents are also available), which has five rooms and two shared baths. Our room was very comfortable, the hotel was quiet at night, and we enjoyed... More

We checked in late in the day and were assigned to room 5. ...a samll stark room with bare floors and the most tiny twin beds...no pictues on the walls. It was cold and dark and no effort was made to make it welcoming. After looking aroun the next AM I discovered the other rooms avail were relatively nicely furnished... More
