We stayed at Waipiata for just one night in March 2012 (although we've since booked to return for a longer stay next year!) and it was wonderful from the moment we arrived. Natalie and Ross are gracious, generous hosts, who couldn't have done more to make us feel at home (in their home!). They provide the highest level of hospitality... More

If you are planning to enjoy any of the small accommodations that New Zealanders refer to as Lodges, you should reserve Waipiata Lodge for your final destination, as all others will pale in comparison, even at four or five times the price..literally . Ross and Natalie Aitken have built an architectural masterpiece in the modern genera in an idyllic seascape... More

We loved the location, the architecture and the warm friendly hospitality of the hosts. We were even given a bag of home grown produce on departure.

My wife and I had one of our best travel experiences in recent memory during our stay at Waipiata. Ross and Natalie are simply magnificent people first and foremost...and amazing hosts as well. For those interested in architecture, you will be astounded with this place. The design is unbelievably unique with an attention to detail and luxury like nothing we... More

This is just paradise! We stayed for three nights at this beautifully situated property which is definitely an architectural highlight of New Zealand! The hosts are unbelievably friendly people and the level of service is unheard of! The lodge is extremely well maintained and spotless like it has just been opened. The food is outstanding (Natalie is a marvellous cook!!!!)... More

I had come across Waipiata from previous Tripadvisor reviews. My boyfriend and I were specifically looking for a place to relax and be pampered at the end of a 3 week Australia/New Zealand vacation. We have just returned from our trip and Waipiata did not disappoint! It is @ 30-40 minutes North of Auckland and very easy to get to... More

This is one of the most beautiful homes we have ever experienced. The property, views and architecture were all stupendous. The best part was the hospitality of the hosts Natalie and Ross. They were gracious, relaxed, bright and just a delight. Natalie is a gourmet chef and prepared a fabulous meal. Our stay there was the highlight of our trip... More

We could not rate this hotel highly enough. A great escape from Auckland and launching platform for exploring the area just North of Auckland. If you truly want to experience New Zealand at its best we would really recomend a few nights at this boutique family run hotel. The peaceful surrounding and laid back atmosphere combined with the hospitality &... More

We found this boutique lodge on the Internet and stayed over Christmas 2005. We chose it as it looked great, and had plenty of things to do in the vicintiy but it was central enough to reach Auckland and the airport. It was the best choice we made for accommodation for the whole of our two month holiday. The hosts,... More
