This was our first trip to Rhode Island, and we found Providence to be a beautiful and interesting city. The Annie Brownell House is conveniently located near the Wayland Square neighborhood, only blocks from the campuses of Brown and the R.I. School of Design. Anne is a friendly and helpful hostess. We stayed here for the first 2 nights of... More

I have stayed at the Annie Brownell House on numerous occassions over the past few months, and each visit is as wonderful as the previous. The breakfasts are not only delicious, but healthy also. The house is beautiful and the rooms cozy and comfortable, leaving one feeling they are in their own home. The host, Anne Tundermann, is a wonderful... More

“Annie Brownell House still excellent address” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2008 When you enter you are in A home ! ( decor, atmosphere, welcoming) The hostess is sweet, helpful, considerate. Breakfasts are nutritious ( and varied) for the body and for the mind; the atmosphere is so welcoming, guests chat, exchange information, points of view and addresses.... More

I stayed one night while attending a conference at Brown. Annie was very accommodating and the house is lovely. The bedroom I slept in had a very comfy bed with a cozy down comforter. The only unusual thing was that there was no lock on the room door. But I didn't worry at all about leaving my belongings or laptop... More

My fiance and I stayed at Annie Brownell house this past week while I was in Providence for a conference. We had a phenomenal time! The home is just gorgeous -- such a comfortable, elegant, quaint New England atmosphere. Perfect location from Brown's campus, great neighborhood, with parking in the back for guests. Annie was incredibly hospitable and helpful. We... More

We only had the pleasure of spending one night here, next time I hope to visit longer! After reading some of the reviews on trip advisor, I was slightly hesitant, however this was unfounded. Annie is an excellent host, very friendly and accommodating. We were shown around the house, which was elegant and charming, and our room itself was spacious... More

This was a lovely B&B very close to Brown and 20-30 min. walking from downtown Providence, or a 5 min. drive. Annie is very kind and hospitable The house has aged well into a charming, warm, cozy environment. Recommended!

I enjoyed my stay. Annie was friendly and helpful. My room was charmingly decorated, clean and thoughtfully furnished. Annie makes excellent coffee and an interesting, tasty variety of breakfasts which included a really fresh fruit salad daily. Brownell House offered me a relaxed, welcoming and affordable home from home for a single lady for a longer stay. I look forward... More

Nice b/b. Very clean. We had a front room...a bit more traffic noise than expected. Rooms are very nice, shared bathroom (they should provide robes). Also, there should be somekind of lock on room doors for privacy/security. They to invest $300.00 and buy a new T.V....no sound, poor color, from the 1980's. Breakfast was adequate9 fresh fruit, an egg, toast)... More

We went out of our way to be sure our reservations were set, provided credit card information for billing and, on the day...the facility had lost everything. There were no rooms available and, at a time when rooms in Providence were completely booked. So, we can't say what it might be like to stay here but would suggest people find... More
