My daughter and I started going to The Amelia Payson House in October of 2003. What started as a simple week-end has evolved to our special time at our special place. We have been back about 20 times; the last visit this past week-end. Once again that simple week-end managed to wipe away all the stress of everyday life. We... More

Our longevity as a B&B has afforded us special relationships with a number of our guests and Terry and Ali have certainly become dear friends and almost family over the many years, where they have made Salem and our B&B their second home. We’ve had the pleasure of watching Ali grow up and their Mother/ Daughter bond mature. It’s always... More

I stayed at the Amelia Payson House this past weekend - opening weekend for them! Ada and Don are delightful and very personable! Their home is beautiful! The room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Ada was very helpful and knowledgable about things to do before i even asked a question! A nice short walk to... More

Thank you for posting your experience at our Bed & Breakfast. As one of our first guests of our 28th season, it was nice to once again share with you our home and all that Salem has to offer. It’s such a great city to just stroll around all day long, which I remember you did. Glad you had a... More

My friend and I stayed at Amelia Payson House this past weekend. It was wonderful from start to finish. Ada and Don could not have been more welcoming. The room (203) that we stayed in was not only beautiful, but spotless. The attention to detail is incredible. My friend is on a gluten-free diet and Ada went out of her... More

So glad to hear that your returning trip to Salem was so positive and that we were able to host you this time. After 28 years, I guess we’re up to speed….ha, ha. And certainly, a gluten-free breakfast request is so common now, it is not a problem. Our daily five fruit start to a healthy heart has always been... More

My husband and I stayed in the Amelia Paysons House after my mother finding it online. We stayed in Salem for three days. The room was beautiful and very homey. Ada and Robert were very friendly and helpful in planing our things to do. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Highly reccommended.

Our first visit to Salem, we were lucky to find this place. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast of fresh fruit and waffles was delicious, and the room was very clean, neat, and spacious. The best B&B we have ever come across and an excellent value. The house is historical yet the bathroom was large and remodeled... More

Jen, thank you for your kind posting to Trip Advisor. Being considered the best is a great compliment as we certainly strive to make our guests comfortable, informed and provide a fun atmosphere. When it all comes together, nothing beats the B&B experience, especially if you prefer to be immersed in the offerings of your location. Some people only scratch... More

We have just left this lovely B&B after a three night stay. First of all, Ada and Don were delightful. Second, the house is lovely and felt just like home (only completely and utterly spotless!). We enjoyed the breakfasts and we found that everything was on hand both inside the B&B and in Salem itself - which was only a... More

My wife & I visit Salem MA often, sometimes a dozen times a year & have stayed at most of the Inns & B&B's in the city. Up until this weekend, we had never stayed at the Amelia Payson House. Well I wish we had stayed there sooner- not only is this B&B extremely clean, centrally located to everything (on... More

I was extremely satisfied with my recent stay in Salem at the Amelia Payson House. It is a charming location near the Salem Common and the staff were extremely friendly. I had to leave very early in the morning (before breakfast is normally served) and they were very considerate to prepare a little breakfast for me and some milk and... More

James, thank you for taking the time to post on Trip Advisor. I will assume you made your bus connection, and the trip home was smooth and uneventful. Again,... More

This trip was a "girls weekend" with just myself and my mom. It was also a celebration for my mom who just finished radiation treatment in June and has won the fight!!! I had asked to send a package down, and/or to have Ada and Donald, Owners/Operators of Amelia Payson House. There was no problem at all. I decided on... More

Oh my, such praise, but surely, we were more than happy to assist with some of the details of your Mother/Daughter celebration of good health and it was really a pleasure to be able to provide the few items that would make your Mom’s stay a little more special; especially when our second home is the supermarket….Also, we were glad...
