We stayed here 05/25/12. We were lucky that they had a room for us even though we did not make any reservation. We arrived on Friday night. The hotel has it's own private parking space with a fee of USD10/night, multiple entry. We took the double queen bed with shared balcony. The room was spacious, and clean. The bathroom was... More

We were booked at one of the major chains but decided we wanted closer to the River Walk. At the last minute I looked at "Choice Hotels" and up popped the O'Brien, part of their historic hotels collection. With AAA discount it was less than half the cost of where we were booked. I did some work on the net... More

I'm one to do a lot of research before choosing a hotel basing my choice on location, cost, accessibility to activities without a vehicle, and amenities ( wireless, free breakfast, etc) I chose the O'Brien over a couple of others though I did (mentally) question the low rates ($80s) as to if it would be acceptable. As two travelers in... More

We stayed just one night. I recommend this hotel with one withdraw. If you have allergies dont go. We all have trouble with the carpets and the a/c. Other than that, you can easily walk to the riverwalk, Alamo, RiverCenter and in our case, very easy to get to the ATT Center by car. Go Spurs!

Wow. Stayed for business. It is rundown, smells musty, horrible stains on carpet, possibly blood on a bench. Yuck. Will never stay here again.

Our room was clean and attractive and very reasonably priced, and to top it off was only a safe, one block walk to Riverwalk. Hotel staff were all very personable and helpful as well. We heard parking could be a challenge so we stayed parked and walked, which was not a problem since everything was close. Perfect weekend - we... More

We had a fantastic experience at the O'Brien during our brief one-night visit to San Antonio. We were placed here from a Priceline bid and couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms are very clean and elegant, have quite a charm, and are very spacious. Our front desk manager, Deborah, was extremely helpful and kind. Thanks so much for a... More

The O'Brien is a slightly faded hotel in an excellent location to see the sights of San Antonio. It is in need of a make over and the breakfast is somewhat basic. Due to it's location it suffers from traffic noise and surprisingly very noisy early morning birds The Riverwalk is well worth a visit particularly at night and is... More

We enjoyed our four nights at this small hotel in a great location. Price was reasonable, and we asked for a third floor room (quietest floor). We did not rent a car for most of our trip and highly recommend using public transportation as we easily found routes from the airport and to see the missions. We did rent a... More

Beautiful, quiet hotel close to the Riverwalk (1 block) and the Mall. We enjoyed the small hotel and the proximity to downtown. Parking can be a pain, so we left the car there the whole time and walked, which was close anyways. We will return again!
