El Dorado was definitely an excellent location for exploring historic downtown. Our room # was 516, double bed with a balcony facing west [no mountain view but wonderful sunsets] and a fireplace. Towels and bedding were clean and soft. Unfortunately the mattresses were way to "marshmallow" like; I guess our backs like firmer beds. Coffee maker did not work. Room... More

Dear Maria-Tucson, We appreciate you taking the time to review your expereince. Although we are glad to hear you enjoyed our plush towels and high thread-count bedding, I am disappointed that the mattress was not to your liking. Since mattress firmness is such a personal preference, please remember to ask for a bed board which will increase the firm feeling... More

My wife and me spent a week at El Dorado in May of 2012. For the price, this is an excellent pick. The Good: Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Fantastic location, about a 5 minute walk from the plaza and the dozens of hotels/museums nearby. You could easily kill 5 days just seeing all the sights within walking distance. Happy... More

Dear MykeMan, We are delighted that you enjoyed our rooms, pricing, local area, and most importantly fantastic service! I do apologize that the pool deck did not exceed your expectations. Although it is not the largest, we just put down a new deck and are going to add more lounges. I also hope you had a chance to enjoy the... More

Stayed at the Eldorado for St John's College graduation for 2 nights. Paid $425 for 2 nights. Pros. Location is quite good, 2 minute walk to the "plaza" and all the happenings in the center of town. Recently renovated Agave Bar had a cool, hip vibe that included a separate area with fireplace and tables where light fare could be... More

Dear Baltotrav2, Thank you for your candid feedback about your recent expereince. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed Santa Fe, the Old House Restaurant and Agave Lounge, and room amenities. I would like to quickly mention that our rooms are unique to each other, and many don't have that second window which you mentioned. I would also like... More

This is a beautiful hotel with updated rooms, amazing views from the balcony of the sunset and my favorite part was the lovely fire we had each night in our room. I appreciated the always fresh coffee each morning, the big bowl of apples and the fresh carafe of lemon ice water in the lobby each day also. The art... More

This was a very pleasant surprise. I found the Eldorado on line, and it exceeded my every expectation. The restaurant was superb. We'll be back.

The location is great. The facility is reasonably up-to-date for a nearly 20 year old hotel. But the service was tepid. Turn down service required 3 calls. The valet parking was inadequately staffed. Lobby coffee was served in a small carafe 30 minutes late with cream only, no milk, no skim. On check-out the bill was incorrectly tabulated, in the... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Eldorado numerous times: it has a great location! I must say that one of the most irksome occurrences everywhere is a lack of sufficient electrical outlets. Our room at the Eldorado seemed to have solved this particular problem nicely. We actually had a surplus of outlets ... and that rarely happens to... More

We have been to Santa fe several times and have stayed in some really nice hotels. However, the Eldorado is by the far the best place we have stayed. I made the reservation on-line for the week in Santa Fe. Typical of my experiences with hotels, I obtained the best deal by booking directly through the hotel website. Second stay at this property. We love Santa Fe, the relaxed lifestyle, etc. Unfortunately, the El Dorado was doing construction on the roof...beginning at 7:00 AM on a Saturday.
