If you are looking to create new memories, this is the place to stay. Is not over price, the location is excellent, and the best of all you don't have to pay for parking! I have been visiting Newport for the past three years during the summer. I live in Connecticut and the drive is not bad, so usually I... More

Located in the heart of Newport, this hotel is steps from all of the shops, restaurants and nightlife. They have a small parking lot around back and offer a delicous home cooked breakfast with the room. Unfortunately, that is about all the hotel has going for it. The room we stayed in was very small with paper thin walls and... More

4 day girls trip. Stayed in room 6. The house was spotless, gleaming hardwood floors throughout and decorated in authentic period of the 1700's right down to the accessories in the rooms. Felt like I was a little girl in the "Ann of Green Gables" bedroom. with the petit point quilt and low windows and the bed was very comfortable,... More

My husband and I stayed here for only one night. We had one of the smaller rooms on the second floor, but it was just fine for us. The room was clean and the place was very quiet. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it is part of the "family" of inns now. The check-in is in a separate building, but... More

We stayed at this bed and breakfast and it was really good. Great location, good service, walking distance to all entertainment and decent rates. The manager was great, he gave us an upgrade without extra charge. The breakfast was really good too.

We stayed on the first floor next to the front door. Room 7. The door opens and closes all night long and when it closes it slams. There was a guy on the second floor locked out of his room. He banged on the door and yelled some girl's name for about 30 minutes until he realized his room was... More

We booked the room for 2 nights direct with the Melville House Inn abour 6 weeks before we were due to stay. We specifically booked the David Melville Suite because the significance of the name! When we got there, after driving 250 miles, we couldn't check in at the Melville House Inn and had to go 3 houses down the... More

There is a reason why there are so many 5-star review on this place--old management. Apparently Inns of Newport acquired this place back in April, and never bothered to update the website to reflect the lack of in-building breakfast and the fact that the couple who owned the place aren't around. My fiancée and I chose this place based on... More

Location is phenomenal and parking is a major plus. There are a few B&Bs on the same street operated by Inns of Newport. Apparently breakfast was served in the one next door, not in our own B&B. No one told us that, and I went downstairs in the am expecting to find breakfast going on, but there was no one.... More
