I am not too familiar with the Hyatt Group as the only other Hyatt I ever use is the Churchill in London. No comparison. Firstly, the rooms look like they have not been refurbished for 10 to 15 years. When I asked because i thougt maybe i was in the "old" section, told fully refurbished 3 years ago. Seriously? With... Stayed here for a recent visit to Newport and found the hotel to be pretty average. Overall, the building is a bit tired looking on the outside and the rooms are just ok. Bathroom was pretty basic and small, it has a slider track door that doesn't close, no exhaust fan so you steam up the whole room when you... More

interesting layout, recomend catains quarters- larger room, great water view; fridge, microwave upon request. affordable off season; although did not see it in action, looks like nice indoor and outdoor setup for a wedding; indoor and outdoor pools, although small. more private than staying in downtown newport proper, but still close and convenient. again- beautiful bay view! cons- thin walls... PRO: clean rooms, nice oceanviews, what you would expect from a Hyatt. CON: very loud. hotel has thin walls so you get woken up pretty easily. it's not my first choice to where to stay, but it was great for a large group. the hotel staff was incredibly accomodating.

This is a nice Hyatt property on an island (Goat Island) just west of the town, reachable by a bridge and adjacent to a marina with incredible sailing boats of all types. The AAA rate I booked included a full breakfast as well (I chose the buffet - an omelette station, waffles, etc.) which made the stay a bargain. The... More

This is a great place to visit and have a drink and bite before shopping or sightseeing in Newport. We stop here several times a year, and start out at the lobby bar, which also has outdoor comfortable seating and gorgeous views of the Newport Bridge, and harbour. It is very relaxing to sit here, and visit, or just relax... More

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency. The view of the water was exquisite, the food in the hotel restaurant was good, and the room was clean. I had a great time and would return to the hotel. However, I was unpleasantly surprised that there is a $20 daily fee for parking, wifi access, and two "complimentary" bottles... More

The Hyatt Regency was modern, clean, and very accommodating. My husband and I went with another couple to do some sightseeing in Newport, RI. We were able to stay two nights at very good rates through Priceline (Thursday, Friday nites King size bed with water view for $270.00 total). The hotel has a shuttle across the bridge to the downtown... More

After previously trying a few local area B&Bs, returned to the Hyatt on Goat Island in Newport for a special Birthday week extended 5 nite stay in March. The facility has been totally renewed and looks great. The customer focus was impeccable and the customer service was the epitome of excellence.
