Most newlyweds choose the all-inclusives, resorts, or posh new hotels for their first (married) trip together. We did opt for mostly resort- style hotels during our stay in Hawaii, but The Breakers was our budget-friendly, mid-vacation break while we were in Honolulu. For the two nights we were there, it was a great space in a great location, at a... More

The Breakers hotel is an amazing spot, it's not the biggest, it's not the newest, but it's one of the best. It is in a perfect location for transport links all over the island, and is within a short stroll of the international markets, waikiki beach and much more. The staff are extremely helpful and always friendly. Add to all... More

This is a little old fashioned hotel hidden among the huge hotels like Trump tower. If you want hotels with all the modern fancy amenities, fine go for it. However if you want a taste of Hawaii as how it was like in the "old days", this is the hotel for you. Granted, it's older and not shiny and fancy... More

This little gem next half a block from the ocean is just brimming with Aloha spirit and retro delight. From the moment I booked through their website and spoke with Debbie I was made to feel welcome. I was joining friends who had booked separately, we arrived during a rainstorm and were greeted by a smiling Colleen who had us... More

I've stayed here several times over the years and will continue to return simply because you can't beat the price and the location. My chief complaint is that the room I was in (134 I believe) is badly in need of some updating and if not that at least a deep cleaning. When I first entered I wasn't sure I wanted to... Small hotel less than a block from Waikiki Beach. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and adequate. Not a lot of frills, but we didn't come to Hawaii to stay in a hotel room. Leaving the key with the desk clerk turned out to be actually good. The staff gets to know you, and you them, plus... More

We stayed at Breakers in March, 2011, but I forgot to write a review. It is a two story hotel less than a block from the beach, with a pool in the courtyard area. There is a reception desk at the entrance where you leave your key when you leave the property. We liked this feature because that way they... More

We almost chose this hotel since we like interesting unconventional places but were leery as we have been burned by the "funky" factor before. We chose instead a more expensive safe bet big box hotel for our Honolulu vacation. I wish now we had chosen The Breakers. I stopped by there today to check it out. Yes, it is old... More

If you really want the experience of Hawaii, stay at The Breakers. The staff are unbelievable. I can't say enought good things about the wonderful people who work there. The room is old, but who cares, the rest of the property makes up for it. I was fortunate to stay for a week, Jan 20th to 28th, wasn't long enough,... More

We have been staying at the Breakers Hotel for years and love it. An old time relaxing hideaway in the tourist frenzy of Waikiki she is one of a kind. The staff is superb, one of the friendliest around without being overbearing. One of our favorite places in the islands which we visit every year.
