We really enjoyed this hotel because away from downtown yet a 20 minute walk to Waikki. This hotel was just the change of pace we needed. When you enter the hotel lobby you feel like you walked into a beach paradise. You can see straight through the lobby to the beach. A beautiful Hau Tree acts as a roof. We enjoyed... More

The location is amazing. Away from the downtown area so you feel more secluded. But it's only a ten minute walk to all the action. The beach is beautiful, very clean and family friendly. Many large parks in the area. Nearly all rooms have beautiful views. Mountain views are breathtaking along with ocean views. We were lucky to have both.... More

Liked this hotel a lot for its location, and being small. Nice little beach with easy access for surfing or snorkeling (which is good there). Locals access ocean here, so feels not so touristy. No pool, but who needs it. Being close to Diamond Head & across the streeet from Kapiolani Park, great for morning walks & runs. The rooms are... More

We have stayed here four times in transit to other islands . We have enjoyed rooms overlooking the wonderful Sans Souci beach and rooms with a view down Waikiki Beach and up the mountains. The hotel is quiet and very friendly. The two restaurants in the hotel are excellent. The Hau Tree Restaurant is a great place for a relaxing breakfast... More

I recently stayed at the New Otani as part of a conference. The hotel was selected for participants specifically because of its location to a great beach. The beach was easy to access, not too crowded and perfect for swimming! Reviewers who said the decor is outdated are correct. The facility is in need of upgrade, which appears to be... More

Really like this hotel. Easily walkable to Waikiki but quiet and away from the hustle & bustle. Rooms small but remodeled ones are really nice. Very clean & a friendly staff.

Perfect hotel for us. Ok it was a bit of a walk to waikiki main town but at least you are out of the hustle and bustle. Nothing but the sound of the waves from your balcony doors. Only took 15 minutes to walk and it felt very safe. My husband and I would definitely go back and really enjoyed... More

I stayed at New Otani for four nights in April 2012. Below are pros and cons: Pros: (1) Since it's a bit away from the center of Waikiki (see Cons No. 1), although the hotel is located on the beach, it's significantly cheaper than other hotels located close to the center of Waikiki beach. (2) It's literally on the beach.... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days. Some rooms in the hotel are currently being refurbished but we knew about it beforehand. The location of the hotel is fantastic, walking distance to Waikiki (10-15min) in a very peaceful and quiet area next to Kapiolani park. I haven't rated the hotel with 5 stars due to the small room... More

The new Otani is in the perfect location in Waikiki! Walking distance to the main attractions and minutes to Diamonhead. Visit the Waikiki aquarium or Kapiolani park across the street. It lies right on the water and has rooms with great views!! While it is a little older the location, views, bar & restuarant are wonderful. We asked for a... More
