The room was almost the size of a typical household washroom. Within this tiny room there was one bed, one couch, one work table and chair, two night stands, and a sofa chair. So, the only easy way to reach any on these furniture was to jump from one to the next, since there was no walkable floor space left... More

This hotel has been around for years, i.e. the 1960s. It's been remodeled several times, and yet it still has an "old" hotel feel. Rooms in the Kona Tower are a bit dingy and dark. Bathrooms are small. They have tried to make it more guest friendly with microwaves and refrigerators. Overall, it's a big impersonal 36-story hotel, Lots of... More

We had to make a quick trip to Hawaii, and the airport hotels we would have stayed in were booked, as were many others. We chose the Ala Moana because it had decent reviews on TripAdvisor and reasonable rates. Since we took their lowest rate, we didn't end up with an ocean facing penthouse view - instead, we ended up... More

The only reason I stay here 1) got a deal price on Priceline 2) closes to bus/ala moana shopping mall. Stayed at Kona tower, no view facing parking lot. In fact it doesn't bother me cuz it's only for sleep. 1st night stayed, there is a ice maker machine (huge) at thf entrance where my room is . So noisy... More

We chose the hotel for the location, near shopping and near the ala moana beach park which is lovely. But everything that could went wrong, the faucet broke and water sprayed all over the bathroom. I did call to have it fixed and then I needed to call to have it cleaned up! Later that day , upon returning from... More

There are only two reasons to stay in Honolulu or Waikiki: (a) you love horrible traffic, tourist traps and hordes of people; or (b) you are there for a conference and have no choice. I fell into the latter category. The Ala Moana Hotel is fine for a conference hotel, no complaints about anything, but nothing special. Very average. You... More

We were on the 31st floor in an oceanfront room, which was dated and the bed wasn't great, but if you're in Honolulu to shop, you can't beat the location! I thought it was good value for money for what it was.

The hotel is located near a large shopping center and has a nice conference center. The hotel itself is just average. The bathroom was disappointing. The tub and sink counter caulk was discolored(?mold). Hotel front desk was unwilling to provide a courtesy check out of 1 hour delay. Price is good. Hotel restaurant is a bit pricey.

The room was very small with a parking lot view. Bed is horrible, definitely not a $200 hotel per night, maybe if you pay $90 it will be a fair price, and this is not a hotel anymore it is a condominium / hotel so each room has an different owner, witch mean the quality of the rooms are very... Stayed here for a couple of nights - great location as it is just across the Ala Moana Mall. Clean, comfortable, quiet. A little busy at the lobby reception with lots of tour groups lining up, but will definitely stay here again on my next trip to HNL.
