I have stayed in the Ilima Hotel with my wife and 3 years old child during our vacation trip in Hawaii and we liked a lot the place. The hotel external appearance might be a bit old-fashioned, but the rooms are quite big, with full kitchen equipment and everything working fine, what was exactly what we needed. Location is excellent,... More

Pros: Great location one block from the beach Safe Very nice balconies and large rooms Free parking, unheard of in this area from the chains that charge ~20-30/night Low cost (~100/night) Great staff Cons: Reminds one of a 1970 Howard Johnson's Beds are relatively old and hard, but sleep able Nice kitchen, but very dated baths All said, this. Is... More

The Ilima hotel is very well located. It is a pleasant and easy walk to Waikiki Beach from the hotel and it is also close to the Ala Wai Canal. Our room on the tenth floor had a beautiful view of the canal, the golf course, and the mountains behind. Staff members are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are comfortable,... More

Wife and I have spent many nights here since the early 90's. If you don't mind being steps away from the noisy beach and Kalakala Blvd, this is without a doubt the best hotel in Waikiki. It is only a one block walk to the International Market place. Older, but very well kept up. Rooms (studios) are about the largest... More

We stayed here for one night in May 2012 after flying over from the Big Island. I knew this was a budget hotel and I had read various reviews on Trip Advisor. Although the prices were decent and the location was within walking distances from everything I was expecting a lot more. The free parking is a nice plus but... More

The hotel is within walking distance of the shopping district of Waikiki and its own free parking ramp. The staff was not much help when asked how to get to places but we figured out where we were going ourselves. Would stay here again for the same price.

We spent two nights here prior to a cruise. The rooms were huge and included a full kitchen. We reserved the cheapest room they had and I was shocked at the size. The staff was very nice, especially the night desk person-Robin-who remembered everyone's name. It was about 3 blocks from the beach and there were restaurants nearby. It even... More

This Hotel is priced squarely at the budget conscious traveller, particularly families and it achieves this brilliantly. Before I stayed here in the Summer of 2011 I spent days researching different hotels in Honolulu and I have come to the conclusion It is without doubt the best value hotel in the tourist precinct. It is also one of the very... More

We stayed for 7 nights in mid-March 2012 in a superior studio room on the 9th floor. The room was spacious and the bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished. We requested a smoking room with a view of the mountains and received both. It was handy having the small kitchenette for a longer stay. We tried using the air conditioning... More
