First let me say that we are luxury world travelers and have been everywhere from Cambodia to South Africa, and frequenty stay at SPG hotels. I am Elite status for both SPG and Hilton, but this experience at this "beautiful" hotel was an absolute joke. Gosh, where do I start...how about grossly stained carpets, ridiculously small rooms, horribly long check... More

This hotel is absolutely beautiful...the first one in Waikiki circa 1901. It will transport you to another era with the elegant architecture and historical documentation. We stayed in the historical Banyan Wing. The rooms were cute, but on the small side and didn't have lanais. Space seemed pretty well used and there was adequate storage, but not lots of room... More

This was a hard review to do. The hotel is a really nice old building, one of the most traditional in Waikiki. The location cannot be better if you like to stay close to the action, restaurants, shopping, etc. The breakfast at the hotel, not included in the rate by the way, is simply superb. Great variety and quality of... More

This is a great hotel to stay if you're looking for a great location in Waikiki Beach. It is a walking distance to just about any restaurants and shops around Waikiki Beach. The staff was, overall, was very nice and friendly. We booked daily breakfast for two and it was worth extra $$ to avoid all the hassels to find... More

My husband and I just returned from a week-long vacation in Oahu, where we stayed for 3 nights at the Moana Surfrider. What an AWFUL hotel!!! I hope the cleaning staff weren't too upset that they had to give up their broom closet for us. In all honesty, that was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We were... More

Had splashed out and booked the Moana as a 'babymoon' vacation, and were expecting that this would be a wonderful, classy hotel to stay in (especially considering the cost). The reception is beautiful, as is the restaurant and bar...but that's where it ends. The money has obviously all been spent in the public spaces and none has been left to... More

Upon entering the hotel, I felt as if I went to a bridal convention. The only thing missing from seeing the petite Japanese women in white cinderella dresses was the glass carriages outside. This hotel is one of my favorites since it is historical and you gotta love the big Banyan tree and the cafe/bar outside. A popular for my... More

my husband and i have stayed at the ala moana twice. great service, can't beat the location, and wonderful romantic, old-world charm. from the rocking chairs and pillars in the front verandah (reminds me of an old plantation), to the banyan court with its nightly live band, and of course, the sound to the crashing waves form the moment you... we stayed here for 4 nights with our 7 month old. on arrival, we were told that the baby crib would be already in our room: it wasn't. we also faced a slightly noisier part of the waikik strip. being a weekend when we checked in, there was some loud live music that permeated the walls / balcony door. the... We stayed at the Moana Surfrider for one night April 2012. From check-in to check-out, we had a wonderful relaxing day at the Moana Surfrider and everything were consistent with the Westin brand standard. The hotel's exterior is beautifully restored and the lobby area is nice to take a break from an exhilarating vacation. The nice check-in agent upgraded our... More
