My stay at this place was ruined by the fact it is completely infested by cockroaches. My first experience was of a giant 2 incher roach falling out of the air con unit when I switched it on. I then found small ones in the bathroom sink. Later on at night I came back to the room switched on the... More

So Vang Vieng isn't the greatest spot in Laos with drunken backpackers tubing down the river and stumbling about the town but, the scenery is amazing and the Elephant Crossing has a first class view of the limestone hills above the river. Our river view room was tired but clean and my favourite snack in the restaurant was fried river... More

our room had a great view-straight into the car park-had to keep the curtains drawn all the time. as previous reviewer said the decor needs attention and several of our party had issues with their bathrooms.lovely garden and foyer and restaurant on the river.

Stayed with a Contiki group at this hotel and I loved it! The rooms were really nice and ours had an awesome view of the river. They had a nice deck/patio area to sit and relax and take it the gorgeous surroundings. I like that it was not right next to all of the night bars like Bucket Bar etc...

This is my first very negative review. This hotel is in need of major refurbishment. The room was tired. The bathroom atrocious. The shower curtain had mould on it. The water pressure was non existent. The hot water took several minutes to warm up. The service at the restaurant was slow and inefficient. Food was average at best. Stay somewhere... More

Nice hotel in good position in Vang Vieng....right on the river and handy to restaurants and shops but far enough away to avoid the noise from the young crowd. Rooms were spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Lovely comfortable foyer area to relax. and beautiful restaurant next to the river. No safes in rooms but safety deposit system at reception worked... The hotel is run down and shabby with almost ridiculous electrical fittings and mixed service standards (reception good, restaurant poor) The shower randomly pulsed hot and cold water and the room was simply not worth the $66 price. Breakfast was surrounded by flies. The hotel has a good view but as others have noted, it is not exclusive to this... More

We are staying at The Elephant Crossing Hotel with a room that doesn't have a view for $50 a double. Too much for what is provided which is a very basic room. The staff are very nice and helpful but this town is so ugly, it's amazing how such a beautiful location can be destroyed by such ugly hotels &... More
