Just a stop while I having that trip in South Korea. It's Summer, no snow, so no way to skiing. But still be happy with my Macro lens, and my 3 yr old daughter got happy with the grass..... got many pic of insects in the hill. Room is good, breakfast is good too. Recommend this hotel for you.

Well, actually, I'm not sure if you should go there in skiing season either. Once upon a time, I'm sure that the Phoenix Hotel & Condo was the best that Korea had to offer. It has the all signs of being a luxury hotel at the top of the scale. But unfortunately, the hotel has not been well maintained and... More

The hotel is famous for it's winter skiing. The back part of hotel is facing the ski slopes while the other is facing the mountains. Weather is cooling during spring. Rooms are big, well maintain, hot showers etc. Breakfast is good. Not many to see around, few drinking place and BBQ restaurant. Can take a cable car ride from bottom... More

the sauna is big and very clean. Huge water theme park too. If you like sauna, hot spring water, this is the best place.

I don't know if I would recommend this hotel to foreign travelers looking for modern accommodations. It is a mediocre hotel that is probably adequate for a weekend getaway for locals or groups that cannot afford fancier accommodations. I'd recommend looking into a better hotel in the area if you can afford it. The knob on my faucet in my... More

We stayed in the Blue Condo (in Korea, "condo" or "condominium" is an unserviced apartment type of accommodation) of this resort for 6 nights in January 2011. We found the ski slopes, ski lifts, safety on the slopes etc excellent and there was beautiful powder snow on the slopes. We enjoyed the skiing aspect very much. However, we experienced some... More

Phoenix park is about 4 hours journey from the Seoul International Airport. First you have to come to Samsong-dom from the airport, then change to Phoenix Park route. Ask someone if you can't find the bus stop. This place is only for skiing. Nothing else. I came for a conference in the hotel during winter. The hotel was full of... More

After spending a week there in February 2010, I did not get any idea about the real category of the Phoenix Park Hotel (Address: Bokwang Phoenixpark Co. Ltd, 1095 Myeonon-ri, Bongpheong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea, www.phoenixpark.co.kr). Although at the first sight, it looked as a near 4-star accommodation, I realized that it does not have an ordinary swimming pool that I,... More
