Staying at the Governor’s Mansion (GM) was a wonderful experience. They arranged an excellent driver to provide transportation for our brief visit to Sri Lanka. We visited Kandy before traveling to Hatton. Our driver was very thoughtful and accommodating. He did not serve as a tour guide, so make sure you have sufficiently researched any sites you plan to visit.... More

Great location although the road to the mansion could use some repair.. Great service, def worth the price of the all inclusive package. The scenery is absolutely spectacular and walking around in the tea fields is a spiritual experience. Nice wine list and good food, lots io stuff to do and we only regret not staying longer.

This beautiful colonial house is set in the most idyllic gardens within a tea plantation with beautiful distant views of Adam's Peak. The rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Although we knew that all meals were included in our 3 days here we did not expect to be served aperitifs, wine, and brandy as well. The staff could not have... More

We stayed here for one night in December after climbing Adam's Peak so we were pretty tired and in need of some rest and relaxation, and this was a good place to put our feet up. The mansion is a beautiful building and the staff made us feel very welcome upon our arrival. Our room was lovely, very spacious and... More

The couple did stay at the Governor's Mansion. They had ordered Sri Lankan style devilled fish and were offered what was ordered. The rotti that was ordered was indeed made fresh just prior to serving. I did speak with the valued guests and did explain what had gone on. I have instructed the Executive chef and chefs to remove any... More

I thank you on behalf of the staff for your complements. I have personally taken the initiative to speak with the Executive chef and the chefs regarding the points you have raised. I must confess in Sri Lanka unlike in Europe it is very difficult to convince chefs to offer meat cooked rare. I personally devour steaks cooked rare and... More

It was the highlight of our tour of Sri Lanka ! It’s the first time I write a review because it deserves commendation. We (a group of 10 friends) stayed at the Governor’s Mansion for 2 nights in mid December. As we were the only guests, we had the whole mansion to ourselves. We enjoyed the experience which is not... I had high hopes for Governors Mansion. The location of the house is amazing, completely surrounded by tea plantations and the gardens were nice as well. The house was a let down, a bit drab and the beds were terrible. No top sheet on the bed and cardboard under the mattress. Not at all what I expected for the price.... More

One hopes that the guest would have high expectations and not high hopes for the hotel. The lady and her partner arrived in a three-wheeler. The operational staff offered them our customary welcome. They were allocated a historic room that is used by many honeymoon couples. Breath taking views and all comforts. This review is from a very suspicious source... More

We stayed at Governor’s Mansion for 3 nights and it was lovely. The staff were fantastic, they were friendly, helpful, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and the chef always catered for my fussy tastes and allergies. Meals could be taken any time you wanted so you didn’t have to stick to any... More

There is really only one word to describe this place ..wow! We arrived in the middle of the night so didn't get to take in the scenary until we woke up the next morning and looked out the window to find ourselves in the middle of the rolling green tea plantations! The hospitality at the Governor's Mansion is superb and couldn't... I had the chance to experience the most memorable holiday from all the hassle & busy schedule of our day to day life at Governor's Mansion Hatton.
