I brought a group of Roadmonkey clients to Twisted Palms, our lodging for 4 days during our adventure-philanthropy volunteer project in nearby Bwejuu. The Italian couple who run the place were warm & friendly. The bungalows were beachy and rustic but perfectly suitable for sleeping, regrouping, eating and relaxing before and after our days volunteering. The palm-covered bar/restaurant area, overlooking... We stayed only 2 nights, and just needed to relax. Twisted palms is in a beautiful location. Getting up to watch the sunrise over the sea is a must. The staff and owners were very friendly. The seafood in the restaurant is amazing. Downsides...... The whole place looks a little tired and could do with a complete makeover. The rooms... More

After spending 3 weeks in Dar es Salaam and Ifakara in different more or less shabby places with no water pressure, unsanitary toilets, horrible food that gave me food poisoning over and over again and really bad service, coming to Twisted Palms was like heaven. After a few days of doing absolutely nothing and just enjoying the scenary, I realized... More

The total feeling after have spent 6 days at Twisted was: Disappointed! Who are you all that write good reviews? Good: ok beds, waterpressure fine, cleaning well, menu inviting Bad: sunbeds gave me bugs, attitude of owners was fake, beach was not clean Questions that appeared. Why doesn't anyone really tell how bad the tide is? Why doesn't they burn... More

I spent only a few days there with my very good friend and we couldn't have asked for anything better. I could not believe the amazing views, just breath taking. The staff were so nice, they did not disturb you, if you did not want them to clean your room they didn't but the offer was there every single day.... More

Perfect rustic holiday, away from the 5 star holiday set. Excellent long walks and bike rides up and down the coast. Our accomodation was on the beach, cleaned every day, had an intact mozi net, fan and wet room and big bed. The managers/owners (Laura and Renato) where more than helpful whilst being hands off perfect for a relaxing holiday.... More

After traveling around in Zanzibar for a couple of weeks, we finally found the paradise at Twisted Palms! The location is perfect, on a quiet beach far away from the hassle up north, and it's hard to find a more relaxing place than this. Laura and Renato were really great and helpful in every way and they, along with the... More

We stayed at Twisted Palms 6 days in the beginning of January. It was great. Unfortunately I got ill (bad fever), so most of the days we had to stay at Twisted Palms. I almost was glad to be ill - could there be a better place in the world to just stay and relax! Renate and Laura were very... More
