After touring around Nuits Saint Georges hunting for accomodation, we backtracked to La Gentilhommiere. We were greeted by a lovely Asian lady who spoke excellent English. She showed us both the small rooms and larger. We got a good deal since there were 4 of us and we said that we would stay 2 nights in the larger rooms, each... More

We arrived at the Gentilhommiere (LG for short from now on) in the last week in June as stage 2 of a trip to France. Stage 1 was Beaune to taste and buy some wine, (reviewed elsewhere on this site - Hotel Athanor). We were in for 3 nights and looking forward to eating at the very popular resturant Le... More

Unfortunately we did not check the hotel beforehand, because we did not know where we would end after a full day drive from Valencia/Spain. We booked a so called 'junior suite', which was in fact a larger version of the (rather small) standard rooms at double the price (a hefty €200 per night). Room, bathroom and bed were ok, but... The rooms are motel-style ( unless you upgrade to a 'special' ), in that they are like chalets which open directly onto where you leave your car - but after 10 days of negotiating IMPOSSIBLE car parks, we were very grateful indeed! No fancy gizmos in the roomw, but they are very well-furnished and comfortable. The pool is lovely, the... More

Phoned up (english) to reserve rooms and was told there was no availability- My french colleague then phoned and had no problem obtaining a room for the same period. Arrogant, zenophobic, unprofessional. Tried to call back to understand the "misunderstanding" and had the phone put down on me. I will be complaining to the Hotel Chateux Guide. Having now read... Just stayed for one night for a girls' weekend. Found the hotel on the Net and was puzzled by the fact that some of the French reviews raved about the food and a few North Americans thought the rooms were a bit pokey. The website looked great, though, so I booked 3 traditional rooms: two singles and a double. The... More

Totally agree with previous descriptions of overpriced motel. We have previously eaten at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and were really looking forward to our stay. The rooms however are small, cold and uncomfortable, no feeling of luxury or comfort. We arrived on a cold February evening, the room was cold, TV didn't work and no hot water... More

We were looking for a hotel near Dijon on a drive back through France and selected this as it was in the Michelin guide, but both the food and particularly rooms were vastly over priced. The hotel looks fine from the outside but the room consist of a u-shape round a car park. One side has no windows other than... More

From the outside, this hotel looks quite nice, and is advertised as a former hunting lodge. The rooms in the picture are all of the upgraded type, but the standard rooms are small, bunker-type rooms that lack AC. The hotel grounds are fairly interesting, with the traditional Burgundian decor, as well as a nice pool. The one memorable aspect was... More

very nice old farm, french style. Rooms are not big but very nice and clean (and not expensive; 85 euros!!). Extremely refined food; excellent wine card and nice and intellegent service. we will certainly come back ( we were there already two times!!)
