We stayed one night with Andrew. He is a delightfully eccentric and welcoming host - so much fun! Before you even get to the front door the garden is a wonder to behold... The B&B is very clean. It is full of ornaments and gadgets. A tour of the new gadgets caused much laughter. Our room was at the back... More

We stayed one night on the way out to Islay but next time we will stay one extra night in Tarbert. Tarbert was a big surprise and really nice. The Moorings was great and Andrew was an excellent host. The view of the port was great and the rooms were nice and clean. We will definitly come back!

We were at The Moorings en route to Islay so had only one nights stay at the beginning of June . As I ran my own B/B for many years, I am quite critical and difficult to please. This place is one of the very best in which I have ever stayed. Andrew Is the perfect host cheerful, attentive and helpful.... More

Although the rooms are small, they are beautifully decorated and clean. The views of the harbour entrance are superb. The cooked breakfast is huge, no need for lunch. Andrew was very accommodating, serving an early breakfast so we could catch the first ferry from Clonaig. We hope to use this B & B again.

You get the feeling you have been expected and everything is ready and waiting the minute you enter the house. If the weather is cool, there's warmth inside. If it's rainy the coffee and tea is there to warm you NOW. The idea is that Andrew anticipates your every need before you know you need it! Immaculately CLEAN. It's just... More

We found a remarkable and a little bit droll B&B, well situated to Tarbert, which is competantly and heartly run by the host Andrew. He gives good recommandations, is very attentive to his guests and has a good hand for special equipment. Very good breakfast, clean and comfortable furnishings, even though a bit confined. Thanks Andrew ! - all the... More

Cannot fault the welcome, food and facilities at the Moorings. Andrew looked after us and went that extra mile by washing our cycling kit. The recent addition of the cycle shed was also much appreciated as it meant our bikes were safe and secure overnight.

We were delighted by everything about Andrew's unusual B and B. The place was a bit like a Tardis, surprising us with the amount he managed to contain comfortably within four walls. His attention to detail was quite remarkable - the rooms were comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was so sustaining that we had to try to eat less each day,... More

Andrew's B & B is unique in many aspects. The view from the front was stunning of the harbor and the view from my bedroom was of ruins said to be one of the castles of Robert the Bruce. Most important was the ambiance, the cleanliness, the breakfast and getting to meet host Andrew. I actually felt as though I... More
