We only stayed for one night in a King Room but were very impressed with the attention to detail and professionalism of our hosts. Our dinner and breakfast were served in the sun room overlooking the garden. Food was delicious and plentiful. A nice touch that you could purchase a bottle of wine and at a reasonable price.

to stay at this lovely location deep in the Tasmanian countryside. Very welcoming hosts and lovely accommdation situated in a beautiful (vast) garden. We had a small apartment in which dinner and breakfast were served. We chose the Greek Feast dinner option which consisted of a superb starter of real Greek dishes. We only stayed at the farm for one night, but fell in love with the place.
We rented the larger family accomodation (which is the center of the house) which features a brand new kitchen and a recently renovated bathroom.
The attention to detail is fantastic down to a detailed history of the property and location.
There is everything you...

It’s hard to say much that hasn’t already been said by other recent visitors to Hamlet Downs. My wife and I arrived there with some friends after a stay at a dodgy place at Lake St Clair and the difference in attitude and service at the two places couldn’t have been more extreme. About one minute after walking in the...

The family suite, which included a small kitchen, fridge, dining table and lounging area with a TV and fireplace, was thoughtfully kitted out with everything you'd need to make you...

I have varying experiences with travel accommodation and on this This trip I decided to give B&b a bash and so far we have seen the good the ugly, the ordinary and now.... The standard all others need to meet.
My husband asked as we journeyed along the dirt road " so whats the place like?" gosh I really didn't...

I notice in the visitor book that not only are there international visitors but a large number of visitors from Hobart, only a short drive away! I'm not surprised. This place is just so relaxing. Loads of room, beautiful garden to wander in, wood fire to chase away the chill. Lots to see in the area and then a superb...

While looking for a B&B near the Mt. Field National Forest we found Hamet Downs and checked it out on Trip Advisor. With such positive reviews our expectations were high; after spending two days and nights there we can say without reservation that every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations.
The lovely 19th century home is set in the...

Thanks so much for your review, we really appreciate your comments about the place we love. This area with its unbelievable natural assets including Mount Field and the South West Wilderness, is one of the best places in Tasmania to visit and of course for us, to live in. We hope to see you again soon. Thanks again, Peter &...
