We spent one night in a standard motel room. Though a bit rustic, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful, and sincerely interested in seeing that we had a good time at Tongariro National Park. Overall, a good value.

If you want somewhere to stay to do the crossing and don't want to worry about anything, then stay here. Get the package with breakfast, lunch, dinner and transport.
