Lovely hotel in a charming town right on the Douro River. Ask for a room with a view of the river. It is an easy walk to shops and restaurants in town. The service was first rate, and the room was impeccable. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed a glass of -your guessed it – port before dinner.

The views from the balcony windows over the Douro River was special. The staff were friendly, the breakfasts were hearty and the rooms were kept very clean. An ideal location to explore the Douro valley and countryside. Highly recommended.

A very good hotel at an excellent location. Our room had the most splendid view of the Douro river with three different bridges and surrounding vineyards. The staff, and Artur in particular, was outstanding.

We enjoyed four nights in this hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the food in the dining room beautifully presented. My husband's lactose intolerance was catered for as requested.

We used this hotel only to sleep and to take the break-fast in the morning. So I can mainly describe this part. The room where we stayed was good and very reasonable for a 4 star hotel.
