Cliffden Hotel was very comfortable although the reception area was small and a bit dingy. The rooms were large and clean. There was a nice bar and restaurant as well as a lovely outdoor garden area. The breakfast was very good. I have two complaints, as it was a Sunday and they were serving meals in the restaurant, I asked... More

A very tried looking hotel inside, with a outstanding garden outside. Room was not that clean, with shower room the same,no attention to detail was noticeable, It was on a very busy road, which was very noisy.A nice swimming pool, with poor dirty disgusting changing rooms, and broken lockers, Entertainment was a singer who was there to entertain himself , he didn't no... The hotel it's self is in a great location, has stunning grounds & the reception staff where very friendly. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours and as our room was located next to the lift we where constantly being woken up by passer Byers. Also the breakfast wasn't to a very good quality. The facilities for the blind are fantastic... More

Only stayed one night at the cliffden ...even though staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel is very tired looking ....reception and bar area not very welcoming , thought a hotel of that size would of had some sort of entertainment but didn't.. Didn't stay for the evening meal as the hotel didn't come over that nice. Rooms were... More

Tip - no hotel name sign - the clue is the yellow AA sign on the main road, then turn into Cliffden Close and hotel entrance on right through the arch - no reception signs - but this is the hotel entrance. Very pleasant room (I had a single) very friendly helpful staff. Large gardens, which you can walk through... More

we booked this hotel at the last minute and although it stands in lovely grounds and is a pleasant walk along the sea front this hotel needs to up it's game. When I booked through the website (not the hotels) it insisted in booking us as one person, so I a made comment that it was actually two people. The... More

Like some other reviewers, I was unaware at the time of booking that this hotel has previously specialised in the needs of the blind/visually impaired/people with other disabilities. However, when we arrived the receptionist (Sarah) was friendly and welcoming and our room was reasonably large and well presented and the tea/coffee tray was well stocked. Local attractions were listed in... More

Disliked the Cliffden Hotel for a number of reasons, we stayed for Easter week end knowing it is a Vision Hotel but the Hotel is very old fashioned and worn and out dated, the walls are grubby and carpets smell. Our first breakfast I chose "cold ham with a platter of cheese", when it finally arrived it was a slice... More

Stayed here on other occasions as we have friends who live locally. The location cannot be faulted with easy access to beach and town. The grounds are first class and the hotel, now part of the RNIB empire, is truly dig friendly. BUT (there's always a but) the service can leave something to be desired. It's not the staff it's... I just stayed at Cliffden last weekend and our room was comfortable and pleasant. We never was interrupted in the mornings as there was a door sign to let them know you do not want to be disturbed, so just a thought. Staff were very helpful when assistance was required but not in your face. Food was excellent and plenty... More
