I had the misfortune to have to stay in the Bunk House attached to and owned by this pub. If I had not been 150 miles from home and travelling with a group I would not have stayed here for all the tea in China. It cannot have a fire certificate or any form of official inspection certificate from the... More

Called in for a quick coffee before our walk on a busy three peaks and fellsman race, a nice welcome by the owner and barman .Nice coffee .Nice atmosphere and a lovely view of Whernside from the windows and so I'm told from the gents .

This isn't a five star hotel. It is what it is. And excellent example of a friendly Yorkshire Dales Inn with old fashioned values. It serves a good range of food and doesn't skimp on the portions. Breakfast is just the same, lots of it. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are just like old friends, happy and... More

We stayed here for two nights over Easter as the original place we were supposed to be staying in had overbooked. Overall we were happy with our stay here. The food was nice, our dog was made welcome and the two young chaps behind the bar worked very hard and were very friendly. We were in two rooms while we... More

Arrived on a Thursday evening as part of a group of 8 intending to stay 4 nights. The accommodation had been booked 3 months earlier, the self contained "cottage" with shower, wc and cooking facilities, but we were informed that our booking was for a bunkroom which only had 6 beds, no cooking facilities and only a shared wc. The... More

Me and my boyfriend came to stay at the station inn over the Easter weekend for one night as part of our Dales visit. It was in the perfect location for doing any of the famous three peaks, and very close to the train station. As said in previous reviews the views from the bedrooms in the b&b are spectacular... I stayed here for one night whilst walking the Dales Way. It is in a fabulous isolated location high in the hills but right next to the Ribblehead Railway Station. Views from the rear bedrooms encompass the famous viaduct which is stunning. The owners and their staff were very friendly and helpful. I ate in front of a roaring fire... More

We only came to this pub for a drink after finishing our walk up Whernside. The prices are relatively good and the pub has a lot of character. It has a fireplace which is cosy! The only downside is that there isn't much atmosphere and it was completely empty when we went, but this isn't a huge deal.

Stayed in December just as the snow arrived, had three great nights, food was good and a cracking fire to sit by too. Room was lovely and warm. Both meals at night and breakfast was good and nothing too much trouble. As others have said place you can come in with your walking gear and welcomed. Tetley the labrador is... More
