My fault completely. I should have read the reviews and stayed well clear of the Huntsman Inn. The rooms were ok, clean and comfortable but in need of an update and new linen wouldn't go amiss. This was the good part of the hotel. The restaurant was run by Basil Fawlty, Sorry Basil you were a little better. Previous reviews... More

Me and my partner have had many a stay up at the huntsman, usually for the Booze and Snooze deals - which include a 3 course meal, bottle of wine and bed and breakfast for usually under £100 for two people. The food is delicious, we have never had a meal that hasn't been to good/excellent standards. The portions are... More

Stayed at the Huntsman mid week late in May 2012. We have previously stayed about 4 times and enjoyed the Booze and Snooze deals - but oh! dear, they have realy let it slip badly. Booked dinner for 7.30 didn't get our meals till 8.25. The house wine offered with the B&S deal is now so bad that it is... More

Nice atmosphere whether dining as a couple or a family with 3 young children in tow. Plenty of space between tables. Vast menu with lots of special offers available. I have dined here on several occasions and never been disappointed.

Fish and chip lunch - a la carte, very expensive, very poor quality. Fish grey and would not hold together on the fork, obviously a world away from fresh fish. Well presented, expensive but sadly very poor quality for the price. Much preferred my local fish and chip shop.Table waitress pleasant, bar staff surly and unhelpful. Not at all welcoming.

On Sunday I stopped at the Huntsman for the third time, on their Booze n Snooze offer. We stayed in a room with a fantastic view across the moors and the room as always was lovely. Unfortunately though, more effort needs to be made by the dinning room staff to make this a good place to visit. The waitress was... More

This is the 5th time I have been to the huntsman and everytime has been really good, but this time was a little dissapointing. Firstly our drinks order was taken and we were left for a good 10 minutes before our drinks arrived. The food was good, my fiance loved his but I made the wrong choice as I was... More

We arrived and waited about 10 mins for a receptionist and my husband went into the bar to find someone, we could have gone anywhere in the hotel. So thinking they was busy I let it slip. The bar lady actually booked us in! On getting into the room the first impression was clean and well set out. A lovely... More

We stayed here, ate in the restaurant, had breakfast and could not fault anything, rooms clean, food good, staff friendly. Will definitely be returning!
