No hot water. Half the electrics not working. Some rooms look out onto a wall less than 18 inches away. No staff to sort things out. An absolute disgrace to Scotland.

I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2010. Undertaking re-furbishments, I realised the staff's embarrassment. However, the attitude of the staff and the people I met at the bar was irreproachable. I suspect sassenachs, including those from across the (Atlantic), ditch don't get it.
This was the only hotel we could find with two vacant rooms and we were not expecting mutch. First impressions were ominous but we were told when booking exactly what we would get. No reception, collect keys from the bar, and no breakfast. The price of 25 pounds per person seemed reasonable for what was offered. Our rooms on the...

We paid 75€ for a one night stay not even including breakfast. The room was old and dirty. The bath was dirty and the shower didn't worked. We asked for help to the waitress in the pub and it took 2 hours for two men to come and tell us that it couldn't be fixed until the next day (of...

Stayed here for one night only waiting for the ferry to Skye. The price, £50, was ok at the time we stayed and this was what made us go there as it is largely advertised outside. However, this is the only refurbishment we could find, and I suspect some of the reviews here to be bogus as the carpets for...

When we arrived and my husband wanted to use the only toilet in the bar area. He was told in a very agressive manner by I asume the owner, a woman with very short hair. Before we could explain who we were we were told my husband could not use the toilet and we were put out and told to...

For a 2 star hotel, this was very good. Heaven knows what those people were expecting-it is a 2 star hotel in Mallaig! OK, there was no-one in Reception when we arrived, but there was a notice directing us to the bar, where we were greeted by a charming barmaid, who made us welcome and booked us in.
The rooms...

we arrived at the marine hotel from the skye ferry to find reception completely deserted and a message to ask at the bar next door - when we did so the barman knew nothing about it, so we waited on the steps until someone finally turned up who could give us a key.
the room was ok, no complaints there,...

Have read the reviews and to be honest find them a little disappointing and thought I would have to comment as I found the hotel clean, family friendly with a very supportive team of staff who made our stay very pleasurable!!!
Ok it is not the Ritz but if you are looking for a hotel where you can use as...

Good value for money. We were treated excellent and all the staff were extremely friendly. We really enjoyed our breakfast the next day and the scenery was fantastic around the hotel. I don't know what the other reviewers were expecting from a two star hotel, but it did the job for us and we'd happily go back.
We had a...
